"John Bon Jovi is one of the best rock singers live"
I never thought I would see those words arranged in that order.[/QUOTE]
surely with all of the musical philistines lurking here lately, you must've expected something that banal to be shat out someone's arse-for-a-mouth?

You gotta be taking the piss, right?
JBJ's voice has been shot for 15 years.
In the early-mid 90s he was a phenomenal singer, but his screeching these days is unbearable.
If you want to hear a great singer, Keep The Faith and These Days are excellent albums. But since then, only the odd song has been good.
Killer live band, though. At least, when Richie Sambora was still on board. Now I wouldn't spend a dime on that pompous ass. Trust me - JBJ is the absolute worst in the biz.

Spot on - his voice on Keep The Faith album, and especially his solo Blaze of Glory album is at it's peak; after that something happened and he started making some very strange noises live, and I literally cannot listen to his live output now. JBJ is also a complete power freak tool.

I see this discussion about a musician who has nothing to do with Queen deserves a Serious Thread. perhaps DG should be debated on DG forum. I say delete.

Bon jovi fails on two levels.
one: His voice is shot to pieces
two: He thinks he's Bruce Springsteen. . . he clearly is'nt!

Not a 'Queen' topic? Who performed with Brian and Roger at the RRHOF ceremony? Taylor Hawkins and who? Oh, nevermind.
He's respected in the music industry. Sells out Wembley. I watched a 'behind the scenes' as to recording an album while he'd go out and swim with the kids, the Foos would continue on in such a laid back atmosphere.
"If I'd known we'd have hit it this big, for this long, I'd have chosen a different f*ckin' name than 'Foo Fighters'.." as well as stating they copied Queen's 'Live Killers' pizza oven and then fly swatter lighting rigs for their shows......
nope, no 'Queen related topic' whatsoever
btw.....I appreciate their music and efforts. Not a fan at all. A bit too harsh for me.

419 posts and you do not know that there is absolutely no moderation on this site? They might as well take all the boards, merge them into one and call it "Queen - Say Whatever You Like About Anything"

420... I've been on the forum for 10 years. I am surprised it is still about Queen.

I remember hearing "This is a Call" in the mid-90's and being really surprised. I assumed FF's work would be similar to Nirvana's and thought they sounded more "pop" than anything. I am not a huge fan of the band, but Dave Grohl strikes me as a really great person.

I like Nirvana, some singles from F.F., a funny guy and bussines musician.

I hated Nirvana; or more accurately, as a lad who grew up on the likes of Thunder, Extreme, GnR, Bon Jovi, White Lion etc..etc., I hated what they represented as the 'death' of my favourite bands of the time, along with the hype that surrounded that whole 'grunge' scene.
I then grew up and came to appreciate their music (if still not the cardigan wearing and miserable façade!) once the hype died down. I really liked 'Monkey Wrench' as a FF's single, so took a chance on buying their second album, 'The Colour & The Shape', and it is just a great rock album, and possibly makes my top ten favourite albums of all time. Since then some of their material has sounded a bit 'samey', but that's often the result of a sole/chief song writer.
