...you insist to friends that there was Queen before Bohemian Rhapsody and bring them around to listening to Q, QII, and SHA.

You can identify most of their songs even if only given a one second sample. It's actually quite easy, you would be surprised!

...when you are preparing a tape machine to show your friends what will happen if you play "Another One bites the Dust" backwards and the f*cking machine couldn`t do the job properly.
" Start to smoke Marijhuana " should be the result :)

^^^^^^ Totally true! The one thing that stood out for me in Mick Jagger's biography was the part about Freddie! Just one line, but it was the one I liked best! Stupid me, right? Glad to know somebody else feels the same way....

I do not remember the exact wording naturally, but it was something to the effect that the advent of punk rock and the Sex Pistols, unsettled the established rock bands. The Beatles went off to study spiritualism in India, David Bowie started baking bread (I know that sounds very strange!), and the Rolling Stones went on hiatus, with Mick going off to the US. But not Freddie Mercury! He dismissed the tide of punk rock. He had people to entertain, and stadiums to fill.....
As I said, this is just the gist of it. I am sure the exact words are very different. I read the book about 4 years ago...

You know you're a Queen fan when you bring back that leroy brown.

When youve gotten heckled at school for liking a band with a gay singer.
When you've posted more than 200 posts on an online fan forum about the band.
When you waited for the day you could see a portion ofthe band perform live (too young to have seen Freddie) just so you could bitch about the performance on said forum
When you bought a FLASH belt buckle to wear with your jeans (to send up Flash Gordon)
When you love the song Delilah.
When you irritated family with repeated listenings of all the Queen albums as a child
When you regret missing out on buying the short lived MINI - MAY guitar by Brian May Guitars
