C_Matt's "Queen II (HD Revision)"

Thanks Matt. You've discovered why I wanted you to work on this one for so long. There is so much buried in 2 channels. It needs an official 5.1 mix from the multis which we would have had 8 years ago if Mike Stone hadn't died.
The official remaster brought so much out but it was still muddy compared to the other albums.

I know it's a bit late Matt, but are you working with the CDs or the SACD versions?
Would you like to work with the SACD versions for future albums?
Let me know if you would as I do feel they are cleaner and more open (for want of a better way of putting it) - they just sound better to me than the CDs do.

need a few more listenings for much detailed review, but Matt I must admit I´ve enjoyed immensely FHLI, more than ever !!!

Nice mixes, Matt. I particularly like the part of MotBQ from "I rule with my left hand...", and you've brought out that underlying piano really well. It's a shame they made Roger's drums sound like they were played through cushions, particularly the snare, but I guess there's not much you can do about that. I never really liked FHLI all that much, but you've brought out some twiddy bits of guitar that I don't remember hearing before. Good work, and I'm looking forward to the completed album. :)

BTW, unbelievable version of The March Of The Black Queen! I don't have words to describe it.

MOTBQ-FHLI portion is perfect!
And now we have complete Black Side of the album :)

Just listening now to what you've put up. I never knew there were three part harmonies on the album version of Fairy Feller, for 'Ploughman, Wagoner Will and types...' etc. I'd assumed that was a new arrangement for the live version, cos only the higher two of the harmonies are really audible on the official mix. But nope, your mix reveals Freddie singing all three! Bravo, C_Matt, you're doing truly terrific work here.

And clean guitar at the climactic part of Nevermore! I can hardly contain myself.

Yes I'm (im)patiently waiting for this, wasting time reading through the endless bickering that goes on in the other forums. I'm trying not to listen to Queen II just now so it is fresh to my ears. I'm going on an Innuendo hiatus next.

Hi! Just passing by to say that CD 1 is almost finished. But I have a lot to do and really zero time to work on it. Just one and a half songs to launch it: TLitE & SwaFIB. SDOD was finished some days ago. Then I'll dedicate some hours to reply to everyone!
