Everybody's praising the recent release, but isn't that just a cleaned-up rehash? I'm sure there's decent-quality bootlegs of the full thing floating around, AND moreso to the point, I was of the opinion that the show is in its entirety in the Box of Trix. Or was the Box of Trix version edited down?

More 70's Queen is always good news. And remember, even if we heard a part of the release, we heard even more of the others live releases:
Wembley: Broadcasted in '86
Milton Kaynes: Broadcasted in '82
Rock Montreal: Edited since '81
Budapest: Edited since '86
Basically if Queen production release something video related we already heard or watch the whole thing or a great part of it. But lately QP is putting great effort in their live products, the quality of the audio of Montreal, Budapest and this Rainbow is superb. So i don't mind.

The audio on Budapest could have been better, the colours on Montreal are hideous.

Yes it's cleaned up, not sure how an archive release could avoid being a rehash. It sounds better than the bootlegs, none of which are as full. Box of Trix version was 57 minutes, this is 90.

Are you kidding us? Of course the Box of Trix version is edited!! Not only is this the same time the virtually complete Rainbow shows are being released, but this is the very first time any such 70s shows are being released. This is pretty monumental.
If you'd like to point us to another live version of Flick of the Wrist that sounds this good, I'm all ears.

I dug up Pittrek's version of March 31st '74 show from my HD, and took a look at the booklet, wherein it is written:
"The interesting thing is that old Queen expert John S. Stuart wrote on Queenzone.com forum that a complete 2LP set does exist, it's framed in Barry Sheffield's office and the tracklist is:
Procession, Father To Son, Ogre Battle, White Queen, Great King Rat, HANGMAN, Doing Alright, Son And Daughter, Keep Yourself Alive....." etc.
So I'm kind of baffled as to why Hangman is mentioned at all there, if the concerts are supposed to be complete aside from the missing two cover songs from the March show.
I wouldn't be all that much surprised if Hangman actually WAS part of the set, and is included in the original 2LP set, but QP decided to delete the track from memory, because
as far as they're concerned, the song doesn't exist. At least in a commercially usable form. Perhaps, if they had gotten their hands on the assumed acetate that only one person
has claimed to own so far, they would have released the studio version on the earlier remasters' bonus discs, and now we might have an official live version of it as well...
Then again, maybe Hangman didn't exist there on the March 31st set at all.
