Can someone please do a quick LP>digital transfer of any 30 second passage to see if it's been mastered differently than the CDs et all ?
It seems all so silly to buy LPs when everything has been digitally processed, but if they've retreated in the loudness war for the LPs to keep it as close to the true analog sound as they can, then I'll have to relent. But somehow I have my doubts..
Thanks !

If it's the same situation as ie. "The Cosmos Rocks" where there was a definite auduble difference in mastering, then I wouldn't worry about having doubts.
Depends on who's also doing the mastering too.

That's why I didn't buy the LPs :) (despite I'm moving towards the analog / vinyl world). Interesting topic anyway

I didn't listened to Cosmos Rocks on vinyl format, is it worth having? Does it sounds better than the CD one or its mix is just something different?

In the runout grooves I noticed something like 1/2 SPEED MASTERED at Abbey Road. Dont know if that tells you anything.

In which format? 2 LPs or the 4 LPs box? Could you post a picture about that please?

Absolutely, it sounds better. The compression on the LP's mastering is toned down compared to the CD's mastering, which gives it a more pleasing quality.

I just got mine from Queen online store, btw i got charged an extra $50 bucks from UPS stupid brokerage fees. Sadly my record player is in storage at the moment for a month because of staging my home for sale. Pissed off both ways , because I ordered the deluxe set cd/blu ray and a extra double vinyl from Amazon.ca in July and now I got a email saying it is back ordered and wont deliver until first week of Oct. Funny I thought Queen store would be slower to deliver here in Cambridge Ont. but they were excellent on getting it here on time (except UPS those $ fuckers)
It will be awhile before I get to listen on Vinyl. And yes the inside groove has Abby Road Mastering hand itched on the vinyl. I look forward to listening to it.

Make your own mind up, same old problem as far as I'm concerned although the vinyl is a tad better.
Blu-ray
Vinyl

Thanks for the comparison, condom dude !
I wonder if our friend Stark could work his magic on this, to minimize the effects of the compression/limiter. He did a brilliant job on the overblown Tarantura bootlegs..

Too late, I just ordered the 2 LPs format :) . I think they used the same master for both LP releases.
