I hate to say it, but these days in the age of iTunes and mp3s, compilations are absolutely pointless. Will it appeal to the casual fan? Probably not.

There are no "hits" to speak of on this compilation, although, like many of you on here, I personally prefer the album tracks over the majority of Queen singles.

If you own the Queen albums, you will easily be able to make a compilation like this. It's really not worth it for the three extra tracks, seeing how William Orbit (stupid fucking name) ruined a good Freddie song. Love Kills should have been given a rockier Queen reworking, as it just sounds slow and weak as a "ballad". Let Me In Your Heart Again is the only decent thing they've got to offer. I can't see anything else being reworked, otherwise that would have been noted in the press release.

Suppose we can complain all we like but QP won't do anything about it. I'm delighted we got Rainbow earlier this month and hopefully that can be the springboard for more archive releases. I suppose the only positive we can take out of Queen Forever is that they're slowly beginning to acknowledge album tracks and older material.
My heart got hijacked by you.......

I have never in my life been more dissapointed by anything Queen has done :( After all the great expectations this is just pathetic. Needless to say I won't be buying this piece of shit.

They once announced that they were going to "beat the bootleggers" by releasing old concerts. Then they tried to sell us the bootlegs themselves instead of the actual source tapes, included Montreal twice and violated the BBC's copyright by including Hammersmith 75. Then they stopped after about 28 of the claimed "top 100 Bootlegs".

Hope that makes you feel less disappointed.

This is what Gary Taylor says on Facebook: As for the 'new takes', let there be some surprises, just wait until you get the album.

If BRian and Roger are keeping some material over for the by now mythological anthology box then fine, otherwise this is a missed opportunity. I think most people interested in an album of lesser known Queen tracks already have most of them several times over so it feels like another half-hearted release to squeeze more cash out of the fans with the minimum of effort. Very disappointed. That duet is awful, vocals way to low in the mix. :(

Why not include the full Freddie version of Rock it (Prime Jive)?
Or Love Makin' Love?
Or I guess we're falling out?
Or I Dream Of Christmas?
Or Polar Bear?
Or New York?
Or Dog With A Bone?
Or some Hot Space reworkings?

What was wrong with them the way they were?

Be specific.

Well one things for sure. There will be no "new takes" from Freddie so he must mean "remixes" or additional tracking ala "I Can't Live With You" from Queen Rocks. But you just KNOW there will only be a handful. This project is lazy

Someone on Facebook wanted to know why Thank God it's Christmas wasn't on there as well. Jesus wept...

Anyway I hope Gary Taylor is right and there WILL be some new takes on already released tracks.

YAFF - I think Brian and Roger are much more interested in touring with Adam Lambert at the moment - they think he is the key to being popular again and getting huge attendances. That's why they are now going to tour Europe although I don't know if someone should tell them that AL is nowhere near as popular here then compared to the US.

Like I've said before I just hope this trickle of unreleased product eventually becomes a flood, and we finally get QP to release the archives. We've had some success - much more since 2011 when this new record company took over - at least we finally got all the B-sides released on the deluxe studio albums and a few interesting extras such as Feelings, Feelings.

In between other Live concert releases a la Live At The Rainbow (which is a great release to their credit and shows what kind of product they can release when they put their mind to it) can we finally first of all get the full BBC recordings?! Maybe Universal Records did give QP a much needed boot up the backside but they'll need an even bigger kick to listen to the fans!

with this new tracks there, let´s hope also
- good standalone versions of LOTV (it´s in NIH single), love of my life and nevermore
- some surprising single versions, like the USA edit, or better vinyl edit of TADDOOL, and the single version of WWTLF, and why not, the original single mix of save me

Im sure this has been discussed elsewhere here, and Im sure some clique will make it known to me, but does any one have a clue as to what songs are re-worked? They mentioned some new takes, but, but also mention some other hits thrown in this mix.

I understand your disappointment with those projects. However, the only Queen-related thing I care about anymore is hearing Freddie's vocals on unheard songs. This year we got one of these songs, although hearing Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke live could almost count as another :)

Yellow Breezes is better than this new mix of TMBMTLTT.

Well you say that, but Gary or Greg said at Convention a few years ago that they'd come across a take of a "Jazz" track (I think it may have been) that had completely different vocals and when they played it to Brian and Roger they were blown away by it (forgive me Gary if you're reading this and I've got two stories mixed up). The point is, what if one or more of these tracks are different takes.....?
How cool would that be?
