I do not think Brian or Roger are short of a few quid having a 40 year career, and that is why they are so
stubborn to give us the best of Queens jewels.
Secondly they are too busy to work on more tracks kicked by the way side, as Madam Lambert seems to be taking
there free time up, to be thinking of us ardent Queenies who have supported them for over 40 years,
that thought seems to be discarded with Brian and Roger.
But...... you never know as you pointed out maybe some songs could generally get a polish and may be fit for release soon,
if the guys take another look whats in the bag!

if you think about it in the context of the two surviving member of Queen being possibly the more rock-inclined of the band
then the surviving unreleased tunes could make a pretty good rock album - in the truer sense of the genre:

Dog With a Bone
Hangman
Polar Bear
Silver Salmon
Grand Dame
Affairs
New York
Face It Alone
Robbery
Self Made Man

Obviously the caveat for me is - from multitracks and workable stuff existing.
People don't need to get all uppity where freddie only sung one complete verse
- loads of songs have one verse repeated over, and also Queen did a vocal 3-way with let Me Live. Factor in an "Abbey Rd-syle" medley of the bits n scraps - and you could have a gem of an album
So on the basis of this - i'd buy the above album

Greg Brooks recently confirmed that on any projects requiring archive work, he pulls together some options to put to the likes of Justin Shirley-Smith, and then he then decides what gets as far as the band. In other words, Greg will sometimes edit the list at the the first stage if he thinks JSS won't think it worthy, and then JSS edits the possible list again based on his experience or personal feelings as to whether the band would either consider it.

As a result, it is very feasible that Brian, Roger and Jim don't actually know the full extent of demos or I worked and discarded tracks, so sadly what we do actually get is in reality as much a choice of others in the 'Queen machine'.

I honestly hope not. Two of those songs suck, and possibly three if you're not feeling overly generous.

There's a good reason why most unreleased songs are unreleased. Six unreleased songs from 1988-90 have leaked and 4-5 of them aren't great.

It took them almost 20 years to put out a new song with Freddie vocals. The well is dry. It's time to move on.

"Dog With A Bone" was never intended to be a serious song to begin with. I don't get why people think it's worthy of the same professional album treatment as the new songs on QF for instance.

Inu-liger: when you try to hard making a song you end up with crap, but "Dog with a bone" was a fan club song but it sounds so great and fresh so worthy
of an official release, love the Queen backing vocals and sounds like they are having a great time.
loooooooooooooove it! (Better than the michael jackson crap on the new album)

Bohemian Rhapsody disagree with you. The March of the Black Queen disagree with you... wait, the entre '70s catalogue of Queen but Sleeping in the Sidewalk disagree with you.

And that's only Queen, let's listen Echoes, A Saurceful of Secrets, Kashmir...

The Sex Pistols agree with you, big time.

Dog with a bone does suck, but Hangman certainly doesn't. Polar Bear sounds much better with Tim Staffels stunning vocals on it.

i did put a caveat on this. which, for me, qualifies them for release

You obviously have no songwriting experience
