Got a message this morning from Amazon appoligising that the Best Of RT had been delayed from being in stock.I only bought this CD to keep my collection up to date and out of support for Roger whose solo work was in my opinion the best out of the three. What the reason is do not know, what is the point of having a release date and on that very day changing it.After the shambolic release of The Lot,do they actually want to sell their products in a proffesional way and maximize sales? My god they could learn a few things from the way Deep Purple maximize their releases, with really interesting shows and packaged with good extras.Just before i go how the fuck have they managed to streach so few tracks and put it on four sides of yellow vinyl ?

The date wasn't delayed but perhaps amazon didn't get a big stock. I got my CD yesterday and the vinyl shipped last night.

Amazon don't normally run out of stock so quickly, i take your point though, perhaps its going to big sellar !! Its a bit of a shame that some people might cancel their orders with Amazon. The cover is very original isn't it !!

I bought both the yellow LP and the CD directly from Omnivore ; the package is currently in transit in my country (France) and I'll probably get them today or tomorrow ...

Basically this release is for all the new fans they have netted this year through the tour.
Any old fan does not need this package, it looks awful and cheap, with little imagination gone into
the front cd cover. Queen really are fucked up without fred!

It's a US only release and Amazon UK & QOL are waiting for stocks FROM the US.
My copies, from Omnivore directly, arrived today having been despatched on Tuesday.
I know others who got theirs direct from Omnivore today also, some even yesterday and the day before.

Got them (I ordered CD & LP) yesterday without any custom duty (omnivore writes $10 value on the package) ... I bit disappointed that the two LP set is not a gatefold sleeve.
On the other hand, I finally got my 4 LP set of rainbow (from amazon.ca) with 26€ of custom duties from UPS ... :-(

Who cares...he's horrible in solo...in fact Brian and him are horrible in solo. Only Freddie was able to get something going in his solo career. It makes me laugh that just because they were members of Queen (and I insist on were because Queen doesn't exist anymore), people should follow automatically their solo careers even if it's pure shit. Ludicrous. I prefer porn to what they do in solo.

Wat.

Those of us who delve into their solo music don't do it out of obligation because they're from a band we like. I genuinely like a lot of Brian's stuff from the 90's - it's a natural continuation of his Queen songwriting. I'm not very familiar with Roger's stuff, but I'm sure most here would agree that a lot of it's very musically distinct and inventive, as well as being pertinent and thoughtful. Roger always did come across as very politically and socially aware in his interviews.

I'm entitled to think what I want and not to crack under pressure from the intelligentsia of QZ. I didn't say that people who like their solo work are morons, I said that May and Taylor as solo artists have no charisma, no nothing. It was when they were the four of them that they created something special.

HMV UK don't even have it on their system, let alone have physical stock. None of the independent sellers have it. I used an old company tab to see if any of my old suppliers have it....erm, nope. So how comes other folk have it OUTSIDE Britain?
Have you switched it off and then on again?

Well no, you said they're horrible. Of course somebody who enjoys their solo material is gonna defend it.

I think the Smile material is really worthwhile and 'special' - that only came of two of them plus Tim.
