I saw Robert earlier this year and it was true magic.
He can still howl and scream with the best of them but his physical precence was that of an old man, witch is perfectly normal.
Of the 15 songs he played more than half of them were old Zeppelin songs with a twist. Whole lotta Love with african instruments and Rock n roll with a dancebeat.
"-It is important not to get stuck in the past. Remember it, celebrate it, relive it." he said, and I'm sure we'll never get to see them perform again.
Fitting end at O2 i think, showed that they still got it. And I love his solo work. As someone said earlier, I feel sorry for Jimmy.

Plant's right in not wanting to go out and do a greatest hits/tribute tour of Zeppelin stuff, if it doesn't really suit his wishes.
Having said that - it's practically his band. No one's going to tell him what to play. He could get the band back together and play whatever the fuck they feel like playing. Who'll stop them?
I admire his consistency, and you couldn't ask for a better epilogue than the O2 show, but I reckon it lacks a bit of imagination on his part.

while the chances of a Zep reunion are still very unlikely, the door is not a completely closed as it appeared last week. The Sunday Mirror have been forced to print a retraction/apology to Percy...
On November 9, 2014 we published an article entitled “Branson’s £500M offer to reform Led Zeppelin... but singer Plant says no”.The article claimed that Mr Plant turned down an offer from Mr Branson and ripped up the contract. We accept that there was no such offer and no refusal, and we apologise to Mr Plant and the other members of the band.We have agreed to make a donation to a charity nominated by Mr Plant, the Teenage Cancer Trust. so - if it's all the same, i'm hanging onto that kidney...just in case it's needed lol

These guys will do anything to sell papers.
Occasionally they get called on it and have to do damage control. But it's rare enough that they can continue with business as usual.

and to be fair The Mirror - don't do this anywhere near as often as The Sun, The Mail or The Express

I think this one goes in the same bin as BM's £10,000 air ticket for the RS

Led Zeppelin is in no way "Plant's Band" they were formed by Page, it is Page who has kept the Zep name current, working on various live releases and studio remasters.
After Plant's refusal to do more dates after the o2 show they did audition to find a replacement. Although as we know they didn't go through with it. Had it been plant's band it wouldn't have even got as far as thinking about a different singer.
I really enjoy what Robert Plant is doing at the moment, and the re imagined Zep songs he includes during his current tour. But I also admire Page's understanding of what Zep and their song were.
