As of two months ago they did. Doesn't take much to make some people bitter, does it ?
QF is a compilation album. Every band releases them. If that's pissing people off, then try a different hobby that'll constantly bring you something new.

Of course the thing that annoys some fans, including myself, is not the fact that it's just a compilation album. It's the fact that it's the 100th compilation album while there is obviously still quite a lot of unreleased stuff in the vaults. Especially when they start telling the media they are going to release an album of new songs, and later 'with new takes on old songs', and both statements turn out to be not true, that comes across as a very cheap way of advertizing. It comes across as if money is really the only thing it's about nowadays.
I also didn't buy the Live at the Rainbow album because the 2LP is € 40 here, which i think is ridiculous. I'd like the 4LP because that contains the full concerts and not just parts and I might buy it at some point, but the amount of money it will cost me is just too much for now. This of course has more to do with the fact that vinyl is popular once again and major labels want to milk that as much as possible. possibly until people will refuse paying unfair amounts of money for a physical item, like what's happening to the cd now. But that's a different discussion.
Queen can bring out as much compilation albums as they want of course, and fans can choose what they buy and what they won't. To me, this constant rehashing of old stuff as a marketing trick to sell more units and possibly get new fans is not a very classy development and it turns me off as a Queen fan. I'm still hoping for an anthology like the Freddie Mercury box.

Well, it's interesting how a subject develops!
So I'm sure there is a Queen version of "Man Made Paradise", judging by Paul Vincent's emulation of Brian's guitar sound that could be interesting, I'm guessing no-one in this forum heard this at whatever convention a snippet was played?
I live in hope that one day Queen will release more and I do believe GB advised the Queen convention that BM and RT are looking at other tracks, we live in hope!
Perhaps a relatively new record company might provide the catalyst for some movement of that front.
Queen Forever for me was worthwhile even for one new track!

All this talk about rehash also makes me wonder how much stuff they've really got in the vaults that is unheard or can be pieced together into something worthwhile. And if there is, I guess it sort of makes sense to release the retreads first. Because if you released the original stuff first, then the established fans might get spoilt and say no to the retreads like Love Kills or possibly Man Made Paradise. Although that seems to be happening to a certain extent already of course.

I am protesting that fact that anything 'new' is released every 10 years: MIH 1995, Live at the Bowl 2004, Rainbow 2014, next is in 2024? i assume.
Compilations are a joke and so are the greatest hits, freddie the lover etc. BM and RT should just let go of the bag of bricks they are carrying and start selling to fans what's in the Archives, finished or not. In fact, unfinished material would be a lot better to hear since it would reflect the 'artist and his mind' at that specific point in time rather than 30 years later. I would like to hear the true historic value of the material rather than a modern take on past reality.

protest all you like - it's water off the old duck's back. face some facts:
1. compilations pay the bills - these are the things that permit the loss-makers and not so profitable releases like rainbow 74.
2. the unfinished stuff you refer to - for whatever reason; unworkability, shit audio quality, professional pride, or just can't be arsed to trudge old ground - IT'S THEIR WORK AND it's THEIR FUCKING CHOICE - when/how/if they ever release it. you need to focus your scorn elsewhere...because complaining about these non-releases has zero effect thus far.

Exactly, I'd much rather hear unfinished demo's from way back when than new takes or 2014 versions of old songs. Brian and Roger are old men and past their creative prime in my humble opinion.

Comment and complain and discuss is what these forums have been since their inception.
Most of us have one or two copies of each album (due to wear or wanting an import, etc). In the late 80's, I paid $22 for each CD release, because they were imports. And then purchased the HR releases because of their improved (?) sound, and in spite of their generally abysmal bonus tracks.
We stayed away from the 2011 re-re-releases, because they were 'lost opportunities'. The bonus disks could have, and should have, had 70+ minutes of material. We simply figured we'd spent enough on the same product 4x over.
We would have bought 'Flash', minus dialogue. And a remixed 'Live Killers', with the four common missing tracks added.
Delighted with 'At the Bowl' and 'Rainbow'. Our only official purchases in the past decade.
We understand the compilations ideas. ''Forever' had the promise of being so much more than it is.

Perhaps the stuff not released simply isn't that good, and they don't want to put it out there?
Some of the extra tracks from the miracle/innuendo sessions that haven't been officially released are really not that good to be honest, and it's clear why they didn't want to release them at the time.
I don't think that BM and RT will be doing anything simply for the money, I mean, how much do they need? They're supposedly worth around 70 million pounds each or something.

Hi there not been on here for a while but during a interview at the time of the miracle they did say that they had about 30 tracks that they had been working on during the miracle sesions but some of the tracks might have ended up on on the latter album's.

As far as unreleased material goes, fans who are clambering for a release should just bite the bullet, dig into studio bootlegs as much as possible and come up with a 'new' album of their own - I did. Once I'd added on Let Me In and the 2014 version of Love Kills, along with a non-album B-side from the Miracle era, I had 12 tracks on my hands. In my deepest wishes, I'd like a Queen-equivalent Solo Collection done next year to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of Opera - undeniably their peak record. But I live in the real world now.

For as long as fans buy the shit they put out they will still put shit out. Stop buying the records, stop buying tickets to the latest muppet show.
Still cant believe I am having to say this....
If you spend money on it you have absolutely no right to complain.
