Brenski: you need to get a anger management course sorted for christmas.
your always very bitchy and nasty.
i do not think you are a nice person, are you married have kids?
if so i feel so very sorry them indeed, have an argumentative prick for a father and husband.
Are you on heroin because by the way you go your certainly on something.

Gerry's 12 year old's playground debate continues, the album didn't go to number one. . . Who gives a toss. I wonder how the sales of Queen Forever stack up against Freddie's piss poor Mr Bad Guy?
What brENsKi has pointed out in his posts is true.
Has anyone noticed that Gerry always posts about what he doesn't like about Queen or what he sees as negative subjects related to Queen or BM and RT.

It's doing better than it deserves.

The only positive thing he has to say is how great Freddie was (compared to Adam, of course)
gerry wrote:your always very bitchy and nasty.
"Pot" have you met "Mr Kettle"? YOU even went to the lengths to start an "anti-brenski" poll which smacks of a very nasty person indeed - and a failed one at that. must've been so cruel for your little scheme to backfire so horribly. had you forgotten that? yeah course you forgot - because almost everyone criticised YOU in your poll against me...and WE ALL know you forget everything that disproves your silly pointless little points.
gerry wrote: i do not think you are a nice person, are you married have kids?
and also getting unnecessarily personal and offensive now - as i recall Jefffabiano did something similar - but he at least had the decency to apologise. I genuinely could destroy your feeble insults with little effort on my part - but the shame would be that you'd not understand a word of anything articulated above your own level of Moronica and Pondville.
gerry wrote:Are you on heroin because by the way you go your certainly on something.
so much wrong with the above - apart from the obvious unqualified and personal hack 'n' slash attempt at character destruction. but in the spirit of keeping it simple - just for you: (it should read)
Are you on heroin? I only say this because, by the way you go you're (not possessive) certainly on something.

FlorianS, QF was never no 4 in Germany!
Let`s face it: You can`t compare a silver disc today to a silver disc in 1985 or whatever. How many sold discs do you need today for getting silver??? 5000? 10000?? QF is a MEGA flop!
And I can`t believe they don't released LMIYHA as a single. If it only was for the collectors. I had so much fun colecting maxi-cd-singles. Remember the great Breakthru, Invisible Man, Headlong......

yes you can. in fact (if anything) the units sold method of today is less generous than the sales value used until 1979 - because units sold does not benefit directly from rising costs, inflation and the RPI in general.
UK figures -
ALBUMS: (since 1979 - prior to this it was by sales revenue - figures in brackets)
silver = 60,000 (£75,000 1973-1975, £100,000 1975-1977, and £150,000 1977-1979)
gold = 100,000 (£150,000 1973-1974, £250,000 1974-1977, and £300,000 1977-1979)
platinum = 300,000 (£1,000,000)
SINGLES: (since 1989 - thresholds prior to that in brackets)
silver = 200,000 (250,000)
gold = 400,000 (500,000)
platinum = 600,000 (1,000,000)
full priced UK albums varied drastically between £2.99 and £4.99 over the decade - reasons cited include high inflation and increasing costs of oil during that decade.
A standard of "units sold" being introduced resulted in a more accurate certification method.
if you equate the album prices to the 1970s certifications you'll see they more or less equate with the 1979 conversion to units sold.
hope this helps

Exactly the same number you needed in 1985, except of course it's much harder to sell that many now.
