Holy sheet, Brian's on fire in AKOM.

A kind Of Magic is just horrible - Roger and Brian are ok, but sorry - those drums are awfully simplified and his heavy style of drumming just dont fit to this song - it was probably fine for Tie Your Mother Down, but definately NOT for AKOM.
Freddie is irreplaceable, but Q+PR were great! Q+AL are disaster. :(

Agree on Rufus' drums; he's an accomplished drummer, but when I hear someone else drumming to Queen tracks it is as glaringly obvious that Roger's sound and style are just as key to 'THAT sound' as the other three. It was the same with a player even as fantastic as Eric Singer - he played the drum parts quite true to the recordings but even then it was lacking.....and that's still the case.

Great version of Magic. But I still say the best versions were in 2008, when Bri and Rog were playing together on the catwalk. They were having a blast.

Do you think actually think they were better than with Freddie, say... the Leiden versions?

Rogers drumming was a fair bit better back in 2008, even though he was rather overweight at that time. I wonder if he suffers from some kind of rheumatism these days, or if his arms and wrists are starting to get worn out. Watched some drumming videos of Ian Paice the other day, and he's still a god, about as good as he ever was. Doing one handed drum rolls and stuff.

It's pathetic to see Roger standing there singing AKOM or playing maracas during TYMD :(

Still, I'm having regrets for having only bought a ticket to Amsterdam instead of for more shows... :(
