How much do you want for the tape, BW?
Why would you want it?
He never said that he wants it. He only wanted to know the price of this cassette. Nothing more, nothing less.

I am so glad I forgot about QZ last night, and missed the heat of the battle. Thus, I had a very pleasant evening.
I propose a toast to Monkberry, who leaked the FM & MJ duet "State of Shock" about 10 years ago, and was subsequently blacklisted and vilified (similarly to David Fuller) by the elite traders.
Unfortunately, ten years later, "Victory" never leaked ...

David R. Fuller is actually selling a fake: the IsTTWorldWeC piano demo. Also he is selling some files you can download in my demos collection.
Lil' bastard.

You clearly haven't read through the "Reaction acetate" / Dave R Fuller threads then ;)

Mercuryman, it seems pretty clear to me that you shared the mediafire link and then realised the files themselves had been removed. You seemed very intent on sharing it regardless of Brian's Wig's intentions; you said it was because you believed we all had a right to it. If it was meant to be a joke, it was a bizarre one, and not particularly funny. Seems to me you told us you were just joking once you realised you didn't actually have access to the recording like you thought you did.

Yup, plenty of sour notes on there. Some standout bits here and there, but Rainbow is a far better listen overall.
Roger sings badly here and there, but I think Freddie sounds strong overall. It was probably a stronger night than the 19th and 20th were if we consider the amount of post-improvement on the Rainbow merge.
It's a worthwhile listen to hear the few unique moments, anyway, e.g. great version of Flick of the Wrist like previously mentioned, Freddie sings 'But I can't help it' rather than 'do it' on Lap of the Gods...Revisited, Freddie sings 'What more can I do' on Lap of the Gods, an octave down from how it sounds on the album, whereas he otherwise always just held the word 'gods' from the previous line and didn't sing this one.

Well, the bootleg companies are going to make a shit load of money out of this and I'm sorry, but I don't see why they should benefit and I don't. I was hoping to try and beat the bootleggers a bit first and, like I said, I'd been in touch with MCP, told them the situation and they said I could buy a licence which would allow me to have copies made. Being a vinyl freak, I wanted to do 50 vinyls, but that's proving difficult to do in the UK.

There's nothing stopping you from pressing the record for you and your friends.
The only thing that has changed is the amount of money you can make out of it, now that the show is available from other sources as well.
Make a batch of 300 copies of the bootleg, advertise them from "any price you want to pay, actual production costs $5".
To get your money back you only need to sell 50 copies for $25 each.
If anything, that will seriously undermine the position of the other bootleggers, when you can sell the same product for fraction of the cost.
Are you in it to release it, or are you in it to make a profit??

How is this different from BW selling bootlegs?
I thought selling multiple copies of something in the trading world was a cardinal sin.
It's all about timing.
Once the audio is out (and I thank everyone for NOT posting it publically even if some of you are inevitably sharing it privately), the bootleg firms are already geared up to get on with it. I think it's been proven that people can't wait and they'll just go pay silly money for rather than wait for me to get some done and be restricted by the length of time it takes a company to make them.
Getting something pressed in England isn't something you can do in a week. I also have a life that takes up a lot of time.
I think it's inevitable that the bootleggers will get there before me, in which case, what's the point. I may as well buy a copy of my own tape.
I really don't need nor want to get sucked down by this whole experience and get stressed or depressed by it. What's done is done.

The main things of course is that you don't get depressed (or bakrupt) because of release, but I'm fairly sure you could manage to sell 50 copies at $25 each and cover your actual costs of the release, and people would wait a few weeks to save 50%.
I think that If you publicly scrap the idea of pressing your own low-cost bootleg for you and your friends, you'll prove once and for all that you only cared about the money anyway.
