Finally, something we can agree on.
but at the same time I aknowledge that your "reasoning" is what intensified his responses.
It intensified his responses because with the way his mind works, and I think the good majority of the board here would agree with me on this, ANY response that didn't toe the line according to his views were nasty nasty nasty responses that he chose to believe were conveniently vilifying him somehow. Even those which pointed out for instance the numerous times he intentionally misquoted or misattributed things to various users here.
If this is the product of a very narcissistic personality in Gerry's real life, the above truly would not surprise me then.
I really think Gerry should seek some professional counseling, for his own sake.
One thing I will point out is that, unlike Gerry I actually have apologized on numerous occasions where I let my responses get to be too much and admit wrongdoing. He has not once to my knowledge ever done the same. If he has, I would love to be proven wrong.
Maybe you don't see it, but you're doing the same exact thing with Panchgani right now. Casually dropping his name and belittling him in unreated conversations, and then expect that he doesn't get worked up when you actually do respond to him directly.
Let's conveniently ignore the fact he has also been guilty of the same, time and time over again.
If anything I've been holding BACK and biting my tongue even when namedropping him, and he knows based on past experience what truly nasty things I could repeatedly say towards him.
If you want to provoke responses, you also have to accept that you might not like all of them!
I wasn't born yesterday, you know. No need to patronize me with your redundancy.
