Hello,

I know it's probably been discussed here before but has anyone got the Opera Omnia bootleg they can share for me please? Prefereably the five disc version please (but the four disc one will also be appreciated)?

I've seen people discuss the four disc version many times but I know there is a five disc version as well, of which I know very little.

Any sharing or extra information will be very much appreciated.

Thank you very much.

It probably won't happen.

It's a decades old compilation bootleg using portions of what are largely inferior versions of recordings.

All of the complete shows are available here in equal or better quality.

Do the live tracks segue well on the set and is it done well?

I have this silver pressed bootleg (4CD version). Bought like 15 years ago. Now it's nothing special anymore..

Like Bob said, almost all the songs on the bootleg are worse quality than what's available here in complete form.

I can make an Opera Omnia if you like, but it will take some time (more given that I'm doing other things) and I will only recompile it (meaning that it can have dialogue at the start or the end).
Don't forget my collection of demos and outtakes: http://goo.gl/uQARhn PM me if you want any [leaked] multitrack. Ya se ven los tigres en la lluvia.

If the website I found about Opera Omnia has their info right, you'd have just about everything there if you have Rainbow, On Fire, and 4 or 5 of the most common bootlegs!

I honestly don't remember, as I listened once and only once ages ago. It was a good set for its time, but it is long obsolete now. It'd be like picking up an astronomy book written in 1865. Interesting for a snapshot of history, but not the best indicator of where we are now.

I bought it before "made in heaven", so I would say at least two decades ago... :)

if I remember correctly there were some tracks that I never understood from which concert were taken...

I'm sure it could easily be figured out. But I'm not sure it'd be worth the time...

Thanks for the info, but is there any chance someone could upload it for me anyway? I'm curious about it.
Thanks in advance.

I remember getting sucked in by this at a record stall in Camden Market in the good old days - I got it home and I reckon I lasted all of probably 10 minutes with disc 1 then skipped through all the tracks on the other 4 discs and promptly put it away. Next time I went to Camden I took it with me in the hope that another dealer would take it on "part-exchange" - I tried three and we all laughed when they said they wouldn't take a copy of that it it was the last thing on earth. And that's very probably the last time I actually paid for a bootleg............

This was on my list of must haves back in the mid nineties when I read about it in the bootleg section of Greg's book. I finally got hold of the 5 disc version sourced from mp3 about 15 years ago.. Back then it was quite something, given that it had every track played live by the band that was available at the time.. Nowadays what with all the shows we have now,and better sources etc, it's rendered somewhat obsolete.

With all that being said, if you're still curious, you can listen to the 4 cd set here..

It doesn't seem to be there. Am I doing something wrong?
