7. 'The Eye' instrumental - 4.56 - unfortunately in MONO (last track on 'The eYe' CD1)
8. 5.1 mix of single version
9. 'Rockband' multitrack stems of the single mix
As we can see, #7 is the longest length of the track.
a) After about 17 years from 'the eYe' release, I just noticed that this guitar intro actually is not 'looped' twice fragment, as all reference sites describe it, but actually a complete recording of the intro which was edited in half for the final album version.
If you will closely listen to the intro/first kick drum transition of the album version, you'll find there a noticeable edit. There's an adrupt cut of synths and cymbals sound.
And if you will listen to the instrumental from 'The Eye', you'll notice that guitar part is unique and not repeated same fragment. Also there's no any 'cut' feeling before first kick drum.
Another proof of the long original intro of the song is the instrumental unfinished version leaked in the beginning of 2000's.
b) Second edit of the recorded version is the early fade out at the end of the song.
If you will listen closely to 'the eYe' full instrumental (in MONO) you'll notice longer outro with some additional guitar sounds but unfortunately with adrupt cut.
The only known version with complete outro is the Preliminary mix with its first appearance on the 1989 Capitol 'rough mixes' cassette.
The same mix was used on 1991 Hollywood Records reissue but unfortunately this long outro was edited out with early fadeout there.
c) Preliminary mix features 'yeah yeah' vocal ad lib in the last chorus (vocals/drums part) which was later removed from the final mix and used to create single version intro.
In total the running time of full length version of this track is 5:00. So the album version of the track omits 20 seconds of original recording!
Full length version with original 'yeah yeah' ad lib in place now can only be compiled using at least four versions above, one of which is in MONO and another one is from cassette tape source.
I think I will create the merge in the nearest future. So check out this space...

Possibly it will be interesting for QUEEN die-hards...
We all know that I WANT IT ALL song has several released different versions/edits:

You've forgot about the instrumental demo with the full-length intro.

Hey guys, I've made my own version of what I think this full version would be like. I've used the version from The eYe, the multitracks for the "yeah yeah" and "oooh, ha" parts, and the album version from where the version from The eYe is identical.
I'm not sure if the original poster wanted to post his version first, so do you guys think I should post mine?
EDIT: I'm just going to go ahead and post it anyway. The OP's version is likely better, but this one works well to satisfy your curiosity in case you're wondering what it'd sound like as a full extended verison. https://soundcloud.com/theadmiester/iwia

Nice work, you've could have left the intro in mono and the rest in stereo, there are songs that worked pretty good that way ;)

Like Ale said, it's better to keep the songs in the best quality available rather than ruin them.

I was going to do that at first, but since there would've been a noticeable switch at the end (where the eYe version has a longer fade out) I decided not to do it. I could've done it if only the intro was different, because there are a few brief bits of silence where I can switch tracks, but not on the outro as it's a continuous noise.

I enjoyed this new version. Thanks for making that and share it with us.
I could easily listen to a 10 min version of this song. Such a great track!
