You've forgot about the instrumental demo with the full-length intro.[/QUOTE]

Yes, I forgot about it as I listened to it about ten years ago last time. It needs to be refreshed in my mind.:)

And so this version is another proof of the long intro.

Just to clarify: The 'preliminary master' (or 'definitive master' ...according to Hollywood Records) from the 1991 US '20 Years Reign' remastered CD is not the same version as the 'rough mix' from the 1989 US Capitol promo cassette tape.

And which is the difference in these two versions from your point of view?
I hear only earlier fadeout on HR version.

BTW, I found that 1989 Capitol promo / 1991 HR version features 'edited' first chorus line (i want it all / i want it all / i want it all / i want it now) which is a combination of both halves of first chorus of the album version. Double tracked lead vocals from the first half combined with the backing track of the second half.

^ Thanks for that, I've been curious as to how the HR version sounded for ages, but could never find it.

Does anyone have the 1989 Preliminary mix that the OP is talking about? As you might've noticed the version I made has the abrupt cut at the ending. If someone can find this version for me then I can make the proper full version work. I'll have all applicable parts in stereo this time, too.

The one from the OP is the full song judging by the runtime they mentioned: "Preliminary mix - Capitol promo casette/1991 HR remaster CD - 4:39/4:32" The Preliminary mix being the longer one, 4:39. I can't find it just by searching for it so it either goes by another name or is quite rare.

Just a confussion with the HR remaster.

Unfortunately this long outro was edited out with early fadeout on 1991 Hollywood Records remaster. " The 1991 version (the one you posted last page) does indeed fade out "normally" (read: early), but they said that the Preliminary version has an extended outro, but the demo doesn't have an outro because it ends just before the solo.

Oh, I missed that part, well in that case, I don't have the full rough mix.

Hopefully someone does, it'll be interesting to hear the difference and merge it with the rest. I already love how "electric" sounding the keyboards are when the song fades out, so having a bit more of that will be awesome.

If you listen to the demo, you will notice the part of the intro with guitars and drums is longer too.

Edit: I think the original intention for that (drums+guitars) part of the intro could have been something like how it was done on the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert - first with just the back guitars, then with the front guitar added.

Here's my attempt to restore the original full length version of this song:

I WANT IT ALL
Written by Queen
Produced by Queen and David Richards

Running time - 5:00

2015 CMI Music

Merge sources:
1) album version (1st press UK CD) - bulk of the track
2) 'The eYe' mono instrumental mix - edited intro segment
3) 'Rockband' stem for 'yeah yeah' ad lib
4) 'The eYe' semi-instrumental mix - first part of the outro
5) Preliminary mix (Capitol 'rough mixes' cassette) - final seconds of the outo

- cmi: I'd recommend using parts of the demo for the intro too, the intro there is even longer than on The Eye version.
