Hardly any wonder why queen productions refrain from releasing anything when they are subjected to criticism with anything they do..

As my first post says, if you don't like it don't buy it.

Perhaps you can prevent "poor releases" by not buying it. Maybe poor sales of this item will send them a message?

As a serious queen collector this release appeals to me.

Whingebags should button it.
Fuck Queen productions.
Now that I've gotten that off my large hairy chest you may carry on with your Stepfordism.

It's a poor release, if someone want to buy, good luck, but i prefer to save my money to good things that will come soon, queen and non queen releases.

So... You're suggesting is that we are only allowed to post positive opinions, and you actually WANT QP to think that their products are magnificent, and to encourage them to make even more of the same?

"If you don't like it, don't buy it" isn't a valid argument, because there are always a few thousand idiots who will buy anything with the Queen nametag, which will lead QP to think that these are the kinds of products we actually want...

Negative feedback is the only way to try and convince them to release something else.

If everyone thinks about it, this release isnt as bad as it first sounds. None of the tracks on this album are available on vinyl anywhere else but here.
These are new remasters of the original analogue tapes, no matter how much compression and loudness was used before, this is still the first time the 2011 remasters appear on vinyl, as well as the new three tracks. The cd pales to this release because you are getting the full uncompressed version rather than the digital cd compressed version. So actually it is all possible these will sound completely different to the cd's released in 2011 and may even sound better than everyone first thought. The price should be I agree at £49.95 for the boxset. I collect vinyl because I want to hear it in the best possible way and even though I have all the SACD's these will sound different as they come from the uncompressed masters.

Just because they come from the 2011 remasteres doesn't mean they will be good. It depends how good a job they do cutting the vinyl master.

The last set of 180 reissues were from the original remasters, but sound nothing like them, and nowhere near as good, which is especially poor since the original remasters weren't that good to start with.

Money for old rope.
Hope they make a loss from this crap item.

The SACD's are also horribly compressed. The best digitals are non-remastered cd's

I partially agree.

For A Kind Of Magic onwards, the first pressings are the best. These albums were digital recordings, and the original CD mastering wasn't made with tapes eq'd for vinyl: it's, for all intent and purposes, pretty much perfect. The 2011s of these albums are simply too loud, often creating saturation (not to mention the fact that, if you only buy the single disc versions, you lose the bonus tracks that were present on the original pressings of AKOM and The Miracle). One could mention that the 2011 Made In Heaven is worth getting if only because the remastering actually removed the saturation during Mother Love.

I would argue that for Queen and Queen II, the 2011s are the best these albums have ever sounded on digital format. The original pressings are waaay to muddy and undefined (probably because they were made from LP eq'ed master tapes). Not to mention that Queen II finally gets a visually stunning cover.

Hot Space sounds punchier on the 2011; thanks to the added compression. it's not brickwalled, and to these ears, sounds a bit better, but I guess the original CD is fine too.

A Day At The Races is the best sounding digital version. The tracks are correctly indexed -unlike the original CD, and it's not eq'ed to hell as was the MFSL gold disc.

For A Night At The Opera, the original CD wasn't very good sounding to me. Thankfully, most of the other versions sound great, the best being the DCC Gold Disc. The 2011 is an exact digital clone of the previous Bob Ludwig 2005 remaster, apart from Bo Rhap. And it sounds great, too. Never cared much for the MFSL.

For News Of The World, all CD copies I've heard sound pretty fine to me. The original, the 1994, the 2011, the MFSL...all sound good.

Never cared much for The Works, but I prefer the original CD. I don't own Flash, and I don't care at all for it.

The only true offenders of the 2011 remastering campaign are really The Game and Sheer Heart Attack. Horribly loud. The original pressings are the way to go here, too -if you can score the MFSL for The Game, even better! Jazz, well...With the "re-instated Bass drum" bullshit and the added compression, the 2011 gets a red card from me.

It's still the best reissue campaign the Queen Catalog has ever got (from a strict mastering point of view), way better than the 1991 or the 1994s (the mini-LPs are too compressed as well). My two cents.
