I wonder whether Freddie originally being reluctant to do Live Aid had anything to do with knowing his HIV status. I can think of no other historical reason to wonder when Freddie learned of his HIV status.
Speculation about his knowledge of his HIV status during the Magic Tour has been pointless for a few years, as Mary confirmed that Freddie knew several years ago.

I myself wouldn't want to see Freddie's sick videos, or anybody's for that matter.
But I can understand that people might want to, not from morbid curiousity, but from not-getting-enough-of-someone-they-love.
Having said that, I wish that Freddie's sick videos would NEVER be revealed.

The only point of interest for a fan really is in knowing when Freddie knew about his diagnosis, so you can look at some of the performances and think, 'Wow, that's incredible that he performed like that knowing he was on borrowed time,' or 'Amazing vocals considering he was dying; superhuman', etc. etc. As for the rest, when he was infected, when he first started showing signs of an illness that everyone knows he had, well, I pretty much agree with you. I don't think everyone who takes an interest in it means any harm though, it's just natural human ghoulishness.

Agree with the above post.
And also:

Brian had hepatitis in 1974 and I'm sure Roger had a severe chest infection in 1980, why don't we have hundreds of threads about that?

Because their conditions didn't KILL them and, sadly, that's just the way (some) people are.
I 100% agree with you, but I also don't think it's even worth letting yourself get upset over.
Just my $0.02.

I've seen those, but they are NOT videos of Freddie being sick. They might feature a (possibly) sick Freddie, but they are still music videos which focus on the band and their work. Don't get confused. For all we know, every video of Queen might feature someone with some disease, it doesn't make it fall into the previous category. Who say that Brian didn't have constipation in "Keep yourself alive", Roger didn't have orgasm disorder in "Radio gaga" and John didn't have tit-gangrene in "You're my best friend"?

Look, there's nothing wrong with watching videos where Freddie is sick, even evidently so. Headlong, Breakthru, Scandal, The Miracle, Barcelona, The Great Pretender, Slightly Mad, Days of Our Lives. It's all fine. They were made, they were released, they are available to purchase, see on youtube, Freddie knew about them, Freddie wanted them made, and in most cases except Days of Our Lives, he doesn't look that bad. Slightly Mad you can tell of course, it's not the Freddie we're used to, but still, it's a good video.
It's the ghoulishness that gets to people here, which is different to watching a video.

The video to These Are the Days of Our Lives is beautiful because of Freddie's illness, not in spite of it. It's heart-rending, but a perfect farewell.
EDIT: This was probably a controversial thing to say... To clarify, Freddie being emaciated and terminally ill is not a beautiful thing, but it's because he was in that place at the time that he was able to give such a moving and powerful performance in it.
