Thank you so much for this! I too had given up hope we'd ever see it. After reading the other thread I can certainly understand the time lapse. BUT glad to see this uploaded! Sounds phenomenal!
Just curiously and maybe I skimmed through something but it does still seem a bit incomplete given the setlist at the time.
I know that in 1985 they had (sadly) dropped the Stone Cold Crazy/Great King Rat bit so it is certainly feasible that they were dropped in Sun City BUT the reason I wonder is I can't see a Queen gig without a Brian solo?
I mean having what we have is still well beyond expected and so if we don't get Bri's solo it's a small price to pay - but just curious!
Thanks again!

Still can't get over this show! It's so good!
Awesome share, sounds incredible, thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing this concert City-in-the-Sun. And in soundboard quality!
The band sounds amazing, and when Freddie´s voice was good, "I Want To Break Free" sounded great. One of the best versions of the song i´ve hear so far, and that alone is worth this concert. When Freddie missed the first line after the solo, for a moment i thought hey were going to play the extended version :-)
There are so many great moments from this show: Radio GaGa, Hammer to Fall. This is just fantastic!
Thank you again.

Frustratingly there is a cut part way through Love Of My Life, so we just can't have the answers to that question. In fact, it's said that the band shortened this show because they were an hour late getting on stage. So the question is, how much is cut out ?
And there are indeed rare instances of Brian not doing a solo spot. He didn't on Zurich 4-17-82 (there are two audience sources to prove it).
^ Thanks! I had forgotten about Zurich....It is possible then! Ah well like I said, even with the cut and even if some tracks are missing, it's still a wonderful treasure!

one great moment is in Radio Ga Ga, when Brian fails to take the slide for the solo! :)
A Queen show without an (seemingly) endless guitar solo? That's a dream come true haha

And Mercury compensates at the end !

Ha ! Hey, sometimes he was pretty brief, like on 9-1-84.
Awesome! Thank you very, very much!!

You´re right :-)
but Freddie´s voice was so good, and like The Real Wizard said he tried to compensate. It was special!
This performance is very close to the Live Aid one. And "Hammer to fall" is becoming my new favorite version.
When i hear a concert from the Works tour with Freddie´s voice in this kind of shape, nothing else matters. And in soundboard quality!
This concert almost made me forgive Queen for not performing "I want to break free" on Live Aid, because i know they would have made the definitive version that day with THAT voice.
The version on this gig is almost perfect! Just a line missed after the solo (maybe a mic problem) and no audible audience on the first line. Other than that, it´s perfect!
I hope that this concert gets a new transfer to FLAC, because i´m going to burn it on CD, something i haven´t donne for more that seven years with a bootleg!
Holy God... the old moustache is back - this show sounds so amazing, one of the most powerful performances I can remember. I never thought that this would ever see the light of day after such a long time... Thanks for sharing part 2 and completing this extraordinary concert Anthony.
I would love to help doing a new tape transfer, unfortunately I'm in Germany. I can do wav/flac tape transfers up to 24bit/96kHz on my Nakamichi CR4 tape deck. If you're interested please let me know. I suppose even a first gen tape clone in high resolution wav/flac would be a nice upgrade to the mp3 transfer and an great basis for a remastering project. Just let me know...
Kind regards and thank you once again
