So is this a better version than the one Antiden shared then?[/QUOTE]
Yes.
And please, if somebody is willing to do anything with this vid, remember to stretch it to 5:4 (as with any VHS sourced video). You'll thank me later.

Not mine.

Looks even good, only the audio is poorly edited. Copying tracks and setting small time delay between them is not good. I would add a lot of echo filters. I don't know any better way to make false stereo. Version, which Cesar posted is awesome. It's only a little grainy and the colors should be fixed. Corrected version of this copy should be the best version of every version of every copy! Lol...

I've done a quick side by side comparison between this and the version that Antiden shared here recently.. The Antiden version is the one on the right.. Maybe I'm missing something, but I think the version on the right looks much better, with better detail and clarity, although the screen grab doesn't do it full justice..

I don't see why we should shrink the frame to 5:4 when it is originally 4:3. 4:3 is a standart ratio, this gig was shot in 4:3 and Cesar's tape is also 4:3. Everything is correct here so why change it?
"As wih any VHS sourced video" - what do you mean with that? Maybe you're confusing something, 720x576 resolution essentially is 5:4 but it is always presented in 4:3 or 16:9. Same with 720x480 resolution which is essentially 3:2 aspect ratio but also presented in 4:3 or 16:9.
If the video in itself looks wrong then it can be fixed with adding borders or cropping where necessary instead of changing the whole aspect ratio of the video stream. But that's another matter and not what I was on about earlier on.
Thanks for the sample Cesar :)

Well.. It's all gone a bit quiet mind..

Anyway.. I think a high quality transfer of Antiden's VHS tape is the way to go.. It looks pretty good as it is, so God knows what Chief Mouse could do with it.. It could be spectacular.. I might even get to see it before I die from natural causes at a ripe old age.. A good looking Hyde Park has been my Holy Grail since about 1984..

I compared them closely today. Detail-wise they are almost identical. Antiden's version has more "snow noise" and a bit worse colours than Cesar's version, that's why I think Cesar's version is a tad better. Please share the full thing CESAR BELTRAN M :-) Thanks.

Fair doos, You certainly know your stuff more than I do.. I look forward to seeing what you do with it, if Cesar shares his version.

I think you might find that there are no so many ''wobbly bits'' on Cesar's version. For example, in Cesar's sample at 20:44:53 there is no wobble and bar dropping down the screen, but In Antiden's transfer there is. I'm guessing Cesar's would be better throughout, so hopefully he will share the complete raw transfer.

I call it "floating pixels". They're awful. I hope it will be released officially someday. In 4:3 aspect ratio. They cropped it for some documentaries.

It's not floating pixels, just something that occurs with VHS recordings on some machines.

If Cesar doesn't share his version, would you consider working on Antidens at some point Chief Mouse?

Not sure. I don't have time for videos lately :P
About whether I would do it - it really depends on doing more tests so I can see if I am able to make it look better. Sometimes some videos just don't look that much better, they just look different but are just as bad / good. I usually try to create a definitive version if the video is worth working on and it takes a bit of time :)
