Rufus Taylor is now the drummer for The Darkness!!! The drummer that they recorded their upcoming album "Last Of Our Kind" with quit the band on April 21st.....they needed a replacement, as they had an 'album launch party' last night (and don't ask me how you have one of those in April when your album doesn't come out until June!)
It seems it is permanent, or at least for a little while...
"We already have someone, and we actually played our first show with him last night. The "drummist" will be known as Rufus Taylor, son of Roger Taylor."
- Dan Hawkins, 4.25.2015
(and I'm guessing the '25' is a typo! lol)

I hope the Darkness gets more productive in the future. I like some of their songs.

Why would he join such a mock rock novelty band like The Crapness... lol

Delighted for Rufus, he deserves to be in a band full time, sadly I think this is only going to be temporary as The Darkness are touring a new album this year.

Why could Rufus not tour with The Darkness?
Maybe if it clashes with any Queen dates it may be an issue I suppose (perhaps Roger may even have to think about playing without any additional help this time?!!)

Saw The Darkness play here in Cork recently and I thought they were great. I'd lost interest in them after their 2nd album but I was really impressed. Pity Rufus wasn't on the stool at the time. Good gig for him to get though. For all the work he's been doing you can never have enough experience.

They are taking him for the tour I would guess as the album is finished. The Darkness are a lot like Thin Lizzy, they keep changing members. I kinda think he is just helping out on this tour though.

Hope Rufus won't get addicted to coke like some other members of the band.

Maybe Rufus has or I wish he had some talent like hus father to writte songs and make sonwme major hit for Darkness. Anyway I dont honestly like Darkness dont kniw why but they missing some nish to be on the top.
Maybe the singer needs to get craspy rock voice not puting that kind of falsetto wich I think is more popy than rockable

Check out their new song 'Open Fire', you can find the video on youtube........it almost doesn't sound like Justin Hawkins singing (but it is!).....he dropped the 'falsetto' (and I've read that he really doesnt use falsetto) and has more of a growl to his voice.

Everyone is turning up to hear them do I Believe in a Thing Called Love, they will clap politely while they do the stuff from their new album and will be equally as polite when they say goodnight but will go absolutely mental when they do that song from last decade in the encore when he was doing his falsetto... They had the world in their hands for about a week, but bottled it and had nothing in the tank..... nice move Rufus :/
