How well have the videos dated?

I was watching the videos for the Freddie Mercury solo collection the other day, and frankly didn't think that they'd dated well at all... cheesy, overly staged, kinda tacky looking, with the exception of Pretender and Barcelona.
I actually think that a lot of the Queen videos are a tad dated too... Scandal being a particular low point.
However, I think It's A Hard Life is one of the strangest, most visually arresting music videos of all time... I even think Roger and John look pretty bad ass.
So what do you think?
A big fan of the vids?

To me the music is the main thing, the video is complementary. It's true that most of them now look dated, but the music still lives on and it's great!
Don't forget my collection of demos and outtakes: http://goo.gl/uQARhn PM me if you want any [leaked] multitrack. Ya se ven los tigres en la lluvia.

Yes, i think the videos specifically the early eighties haven't dated very well at all. However, which band's have all 100% stood the test of time?

Dated well:
Bo Rhap, cos of the historical aspect.
Radio Ga Ga. 'cos it is brilliant.
Don't stop me now. Showed Queen "live", in their prime.
Breakthru. Timeless.
Save me. See don't stop me now, plus subtle animation .
Crazy little thing called love. 'cos it's a masterpiece of pop video production.
I want to break free. Groundbreaking and pushing the envelope.

Dated not too badly:
Probably the majority of the remainder except......
its a hard life. Atrocious then and still so today.

I actually like the Hard Life video. I think Innuendo is still strong today as it was in 1991. Same goes for most videos from that era.

The worst are from the Hot Space era imo. Cheesy, bad ' acting' , terrible production, typically 80's. :D

Freddie's solo ones might look a bit dated, but I still watch the later Queen ones all the time.

Who Wants To Live Forever has also aged well.

One of my faves is Freddie's Living On My Own video - I think it just captured all the partying and having fun which Freddie was into, and in a way it also serves as a visual depiction of the last carefree years for Freddie. It's a window into the world of absolute hedonism and reckless behaviour. It's the only Freddie party which we have on video - I'm sure a lot more footage of that party exists than what was chosen for the music video.

Just one or two years later, all the partying would stop, and hard-hitting reality would come by.

The LOMO video is a bit creepy for me.
A lot of the people seen in that video have died of AIDS, Fred included. It was meant to be a fun party video, but
it took on a different tone in hindsight, like they were playing with fire.

Those awful spandex like jumpsuits from THE WORKS TOUR have surely dated.
But on the plus side. .. it's a "live style video"

Gotta agree with others.

In terms of absurdity, it's a hard life holds up.
Same with WWTLF, HEADLONG, IWIA, DSMN, SAVE ME, and the odd one YOU DON'T FOOL ME (though not necessarily a true band video)

The invisible man is one that certainly doesn't. But it's funnyf for pure CHEESE FACTOR
