Just seeing now that Led Zeppelin is releasing an album with unreleased tracks! Why or who doesn't want the tracks to get released!? This is something Queen fans want next to Live Killers released or Hammersmith! Weather or not they are complete just put them out! I just don't understand.. We the fans know that there are plenty of unreleased tracks! Hell why not also do alternative takes!!

If they're not "perfect" they won't be released. Very sad state of affairs.

If you're comparing to Led Zeppelin, you'll find an almost equal number of previously unreleased tracks by both that have been released. Many of the tracks that Zeppelin has released on their latest CD reissues are alt mixes, or versions that aren't that different to the regular official released versions. Sure, there are a few that might be considered totally 'new' but let's not forget the previously unreleased tracks that Queen released on their CD reissues a few years back. If you total up all the tracks amongst all their releases you'll likely find a comparable number. Zeppelin has lots more stuff in their vaults that haven't been released, but are available on the bootleg market. That's the difference with Queen. Most of their stuff has never made it out, but even still there are demos and alt versions from Hot Space (and a few other tracks) that are easily available, just not 'officially.' The biggest difference would be in live shows, where there are many soundboard Zeppelin shows out there, but relatively few from Queen, especially early in their touring career. There are certainly other bands that have released a lot of stuff, like Dylan, with his Basement Tape series of CD's and his fans must be quite happy, though, even with him I'm sure there's lots still left to be released.
We'd all like Queen to release more stuff, and in time I'm sure more stuff will make it out...heck, some of it has even been played at conventions. At least they've done that. Hopefully one day we'll all get to hear some tunes we haven't heard and/or some more live shows (CD and DVD) but I think it'll be later rather than sooner.

There were plenty of previously unreleased bonus tracks on the 2011 remasters. Have you not heard those yet?

Queen rightly release whatever they believe is best for their image, for their pocket, and for the up-keep of their high standards. You greatly over simplify things, and, dare I say it, sound puerile, in your manner of querying this matter.

Because they (Brian, Roger & Jim) don't consider the unfinished stuff be worth releasing. Unfortunately they have no clue what the fans want, since they were shocked by the popularity of the Rainbow release

They had a pretty good idea what fans wanted up till 1991. It all went a bit Pete Thong when Freddie died didn't it?

I am well satisfied with what Queen material has been released.
Never been a fan of snippets, alternative this or that and the soul-less 'Frankensteining' of innocuous Freddie vocals.
Thanks Queen, for this rich canon of priceless art.

Haha. Frankensteining!
I know some believe this is true of the album MADE IN HEAVEN but I'm one of the differing class. I think it's an excellent album.
I can only imagine the task they had ahead with even those THREE songs.
(A beautiful day/let me live merged into one substantially new TWO songs)
Who knows what the skeletons of MOTHER LOVE, A WINTER'S TALE and YOU DON'T FOOL ME were.
Although it was "filled up" I believe it was done WELL and in Ernest to the work of the songs ' creators.
Beautiful work.
Im of a belief that the unreleased demos and songs are a nest egg for the songwriters ' families.
Couldn't be any other reason. Just like Michael Jackson had arranged for his children (of Miko Brando, Brooke shields n that bodyguard)
Good gene splicing. MUCH LIKE THE ORIGINAL but not as much.
AFTER THE FACT. M. I'd love to hear those first mixes... I can imagine LET ME LIVE being VERY similarbut the rest? ???? Nah.
Just an incredible amount of work and a great deal of camaraderie and anticipated ends to unfinished songs.
Just look at the "phoney" TOTALLY BONKERS version of IGSM. These songs probably already were heavily participated upon.

Rather than going 'a bit Pete Tong' recently, it sadly went even further and has 'gone a bit William Orbit' (make up your own rhyming slang!!) :-)

haha, nice one CMS drums..
@matt z:
1) Wasn't A Winter's Tale nearly finished during the Miracle sessions ?
2) A beautiful day / let me live merge into one ? What do you mean ?
3) Recent findings suggests that Freddie's vocals for Mother love were ready at least at the end of May of 91'. As it was mainly Brian's composition, then I suppose that the majority of instrumentation was already there.
PS. some time ago a fan, whose nick on QZ was Rogers' Untidy Bottom stated that there does exist a version of Let Me Live with Freddie singing all the verses

You can tell that A Winter's Tale is not from the Miracle era by the vocals, his voice is at it's thinnest in my opinion, especially the 'Gentle rain beating on my face' line.
And I doubt there is a version of Let Me Live all the way through with Freddie, maybe bits and pieces but not complete. Otherwise i think the band would have used it, they were desperate for Freddie material.

Winter's Tale wasn't recorded during The Miracle sessions. As far as I know it was the last song Freddie composed and the vocals were recorded in early 1991.

Yes, thanks everyone for correcting me, I mixed it with TMLWKY as it originated in the Miracle sessions. sorry !
