Here is a short article about the artist Richard Dadd, who painted 'The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke' in the mid 19th Century. We all know the song it inspired.
Queen are not mentioned in the article even as a passing reference, which is a shame in a way. Even though the song isn't relevant to Dadd's lifetime, it could influence more people to go and see the exhibition if they knew that this artist's work inspired a rock song.
I'm not surprised it's not mentioned. As great as the song is, it's completely irrelevant to the overwhelming majority of people outside a few thousand Queen fans (mostly die-hard ones).

But I'm sure it would be interesting to those with an interest in the painting to know that it inspired a whole song by Queen.
The social interaction between events/objects/places and songs they inspired are usually interesting - We all know The Beatles wrote songs about Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields, and equally the people from those places know The Beatles wrote songs about them I think?

As was just mentioned the writer probably never heard of the queen song. Anyway it's not a rock song the song is an embarrassment something your not going to put on to impress your girlfriend.

It's not something you'd put on to impress your girlfriend as you say, but it's not an embarrassment. On one hand it sounds kitsch and camp, on the other hand it's pretty daring and musically very daring for a rock band to have done at that time. Does it embarrass you, una999?

I'm embarassed that a Queen fan cannot understand how beautiful FFMS is. I consider it to be among the band's top production.
Cheers,

TFFMS is right up there with the tunes I've been impressing chicks with for 30 years.

TFFMS still impress me, I found it 40 years ago really impressing, as it feels like that Freddie is painting a masterpiece with the lyrics. An embarrasment? Try Friends will be Friends, Pain is Close, My baby Does me....

The deluxe box set will contain all the 3 volumes + 3 unheard songs (remixes of known songs). And the CDs will contain unheard outtakes of almost all the songs.
Oh, sorry.
The CDs will contain a compilation of songs to make love (who won't be OK for making love, but anyway).

My baby does me is quite a good song. It has certain dynamics to it and a certain relaxing vibe. Kinda like rain must fall or Delilah most people seem to continually slate those songs yet the first two lines of Delilah is better than some entire queen songs.

...and there we have all the evidence we need to know for certain that una999 should not be taken seriously.
