Thanks Chief!   What have you done exactly in photoshop? A frame to frame work?
Ps. You've got a pm
Interesting, I managed to send a reply to M&M on phone just earlier and now I can't send you a reply on PC since it gives me an error.

Here's what I said - "You mean the glow around the middle lighting rig? Judging from the screenshot it doesn't look like a video issue but an actual glow."

---

This kind of stuff is what I removed with Photoshop. The big streaks, not sure how else to call them. Avisynth can remove the small film spots with no problems but it fails when it comes to damage like this.

Just to look at these pictures like this my jaw drops. Pictures get older, not young! :-)
I really don´t know how you do it, but you have one hell of a talent. I think Sikke should consider giving you the raw file for you to work your magic on, even if it isn´t for sharing.
And let me tell you something, your work in restoration is WORLD CLASS. You are a genius in this kind of field. You bring images back to live again. It´s impressive and this community is very lucky to have a talented person like you doing this.

I´m with those who believe you would be a great addition to the QP video team.

You're far too kind! Cheers :-)

I just want to say something.

Now, the Beatles are going to release their number 1´s with DVD/BluRay videos in excellent quality. There´s already a trailer on their youtube page.

After i saw the trailer and read the description of the video, and all the work they took with a team of 18 people who worked around the clock for some months, it makes me appreciate even more the work that ChiefMouse put into his videos, specially this one, wich he made it look better than the official source, with a youtube sourced video and just his tools that he has in his home - which i´m certain can´t compare to what the Beatles and Queen have in their arsenal.

Here´s a split screen for the "Penny Lane" video. You can read the description under the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIAA4YsL3rc

I´ve said it before Chief, you are a genius, and i hope that one day you´ll get to work for some major artist. If QP were smart, they would have already contacted you to help them out, at least for quality control of their videos.

But probably, many people there are too insecure to bring someone with your talent to the team. That´s the only reason i can find for them not to contact you. Probably, Brian and Roger aren´t aware of your work because people around them don´t want them to.

I'd like to think you're wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if you're right.

Indeed, Chief did a brilliant job on that, as always.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Not sure what was up with the link. I edited the post and replaced it with the same link and now it seems to work.

As for video restoration work - Avisynth is a free small software, created voluntarily in like 2001 on scripting base which some student wrote. Nothing's changed in it since 2001 apart from loads of new plugins and scripts written for it by many extremely smart people. I am not even as smart and knowledgeable to create my own plugins, I just use what other people created. So this pretty much means I am nowhere near as great as you're telling I am, MrQueenFan ;-) Anyone could do it if they dedicated some time to learning this software and understanding some of the basics of video.

Beatles and Queen people probably have DaVinci Revival software - https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davincirevival/software . And they have a million times faster PCs, mine has a CPU made in like 2007 (Intel Pentium 2.5Ghz Dual Core. Now even phones have quad cores :P) and 2GB RAM. As you can imagine it's pretty darn slow. I wish I had their tools. Too bad this DaVinci Revival Pro costs $9,995.
