Only 3 cameras used to film I gather, so I suspect there may be some "dodgy" shots that may not be acceptable to the band (It's such a long time since I watched it), which would necessitate (in their eyes), the possible removal of songs!

QPL are TOO focused on perfection because lets face it, the fans don't really care too much as long it looks good and sounds good.
In their defence the camera work and quality of footage is not great and I could understand from a quality control point if they skip it. With that said a duel release with Houston '77 is a pretty good idea. Hope they don't cut HP though it would be great to see them release it as best as they can. Although it is a bit off I feel it certainly deserves to be released considering the historical importance.

As fans we need to push for HP to be released and let them know we want to have it regardless of it's issues.
Arse.

What's the score with 'Imagine'? is anyone going to comment?
It was an pencil drawn animation set to the audience recording. NOT proper video footage.
Thanks for replying.
What a let down.

After all that build-up ?!

And people were actually upset that the "information" got out in advance?

His input after that on releases is essentially limited to labelling tracks with the wrong title, getting facts wrong in write ups, and ensuring that the final product is proof checked for other inaccuracies to a level that would leave Helen Keller in disbelief.
I can can only assume he is getting Houston and Earls Court mixed up here.

Surely it would make more sense to pair HP & EC together (though HP should have been paired with Hammersmith imo)?

Why pair with Houston? Two completely different tours, in different years on opposite sides of the Atlantic. It doesn't make sense. Rock Montreal anyone.

They have all of that wonderful Bob Harris footage to go along with Houston, if it's paired with HP I don't imagine we'll ever get to see that.

Let's put a cat amongst the pigeons here.

Hyde Park with a documentary about the event as it was a major milestone in the bands history.

Earls Court, with the second night as a bonus like they did with Wembley 86

Houston with the original Bob Harris documentary and the live footage of the mini concert played at the We Are The Champions Filming (if these two have survived in good enough condition)

I'm pretty sure Jim Jenkins asked Greg the question to Greg Brookes about the mini concert performed after the We are the Champions pro mo video. Either he was unwilling to answer the question or he didn't know if it existed. Even if he did,Mr Brookes didn't seem willing to speculate on whether the quality of that mini gig was good enough. I think for sure we'll get a good release next year of another 70's concert. As to what is again open to speculation. I get the impression Mr Brookes was being evasive.
I would like to mention though that Greg Brookes was only on the stage for 30 mind just before the UK premiere of A Night at the Odeon which after seeing it I have to say I'm now looking forward to its release. The sound quality IMO is much improved even if it did have numerous technical 'fixes' shall we say. I'm not able to spot them through ear alone (by that I mean they aren't easily noticeable to to people who hadnt heard the concert before). What I will say though is either Jim Jenkins or Greg Brookes said before the screening "Hammersmith 75 never sounded so good"

I'd love Houston, with the Bob Harris 'on the road' footage pulled together by Rhys Thomas for a full 2 hour or so tour documentary to go with it.

After all the mystery, built-up and not much info given prior to the event... they only played an audience source which has been available for years ? I hope that at least the animation was that of the band performing "Imagine" and the art was based on the photos available from the concert....

Ok, i was at convention and Greg mentioned Live Killers....he talked about a possible interactive DVD, with different gigs, so a bit like Rare Live/Live killers, Jim asked about Bob Harris filming the special fan after Promo/champions, as jim was there he remebered the cameras rolling, but Greg said he had not found that yet. The defos he mentioned were Hyde park 76, Houston 77, etc but said theyre looking at what the material is like for release......As for anthology he said it would take around 2 years for the band to spend time on it with him.....i asked him a private question later in the night and it was does Hangman and Victory studio versions excist...His reply Victory defo does..

If so, et's just keep William Orbit away from the Victory mixing desk!

"jim was there he remebered the cameras rolling, but Greg said he had not found that yet." You have to laugh at that dont you, Greg's been collecting the archives together for almost a couple of decades now by my reckoning and either it was all thrown into a million Tesco carrier bags before or he is a master at spinning this out until retirement. I appreciate he will have to look through BBC achives as well, but surely 20 years down the road they must have everything that's out there safely stored away, He's been doing it almost as long as Freddie was with them...
