Has anyone heard anything more recently? Brian mentioned it in a podcast last summer.
Obviously the Brixton video has been remastered because of the youtube release of Since You've Been Gone.
Any help/gossip gratefully received!! :-)

Nothing really more to tell about this time... Brixton becomes a re-release, Brian think about that fact and a box set was never really planed... maybe next year, I really hope so! Rogers "The Lot" was quickly announced so finger crossed for an simualr release this year.

I've heard from a reliable source that his solo box set will be released the May following his death.
It will be sold in a gigantic curly wig, and feature all known recordings of the Brighton Rock Solo (and nothing else) on 80 CDs.
There will be one copy, which will be sold to the person who has guessed correctly how many master tapes of unreleased Queen concerts will be sent to space along with Brian's ashes.

A BM box set would be nice, but it should be a better Release than Rog`s hair raising non- proof reading of the "The Lot" box set.

Well, that certainly gave me a much needed laugh!

Greg mentioned this at Convention in November.
He's currently cataloguing Brian's archive for what "may" become two boxsets as Brian is keen to have all his collaborative works released as well. Goodness knows how rights issues will be sorted for that boxset though.
Any Queen boxset just gets further and further away as, let's face it, that's the final thing they'll ever release I expect.

Thanks Brians wig!! :-)
Mooghead will probably vomit but I really want Anita Dobson's album on CD (I Dream Of Christmas!). As well as the obvious rarities: Macbeth score, My Boy, The Stonk etc etc…
To be honest, I'll settle for a remastered SD Blu-ray of Brixton gig (with new 5.1 mix and maybe The Dream Is Over?) with select tracks from RAH 98...

Also Brians wig…
Any news about the promo videos coming out on Blu-ray (and hopefully in 4:3 this time!) obviously retaining the gorgeous 5.1 mixes.
Thanks!!

There has been no mention of a bluray promo set since Rhys Thomas (I think it was) mentioned it at convention at least 5 years ago.
Now, with what I've heard, QPL are having a problem with DoRo, in that DoRo believe that everything filmed by them is THEIR copyright ans as such belongs to them, and if QPL want to use any of it then QPL will have to pay for it!
QPL, quite rightly, firmly believe that all material belongs to THEM, but since everything shot by DoRo resides in DoRo's archives which, again I gather, are split between Munich and Vienna, doesn't make it easy and this, I gather, is the reason we have nothing filmed by DoRo on the cards for release.
What makes it more complicated is that Hannes & Rudi have apparantly split, so there's potential in-fighting there.
If all I've posted above IS actually the truth (or even somewhere close to it), then it may be a while before things get sorted out.
Perhaps QPL will ultimately have to fork out some money to DoRo just to get access to what should be their own late 80's onwards archive....

HA ! YES ! They have a little bit more to deal with than the financial aspect :)
Nice post !

Is there a possibility that DoRo are actually correct, and have an agreement to prove it? Surely ten years would have been enough time to file a legal case if QP had any grounds?
The truth is that Queen made a mistake in their original contract with DoRo (which probably only allows them rights on VHS releases or something similar), and are too stubborn to pay for anything more.

Except several DoRo videos were used on GVH2 and also a Cross promo video was released in the RT boxset. More likely DoRo are withholding material QPL don't have in their archives.
