Dude, WTF is going on??!! 2016 is not even half way done and it's already turning into the worst year of famous artists and famous people leaving us...

Yep, 2015 was a horrible year for Star Trek fans, 2016 (starting with December 2015) is a horrible year for music fans

Less than a week ago he was still performing. Very, very sad.

I'm crumpled thinking about it. I'd heard and thought it was a joke but my stomach sank. So it had to have been real.
It's amazing how much vitriol there is from the idiot public who only know him from Purple Rain. The guy was a tiny monster of talent. An incredible musician and artist. Spiritual fellow too.
The Purple Yoda
"SOMETIMES IT SNOWS IN APRIL":
A fitting coda.
I'd been dreading this since the "likes" had started going up on my Facebook "purple Yoda" page.
Jesus. You would never have thought Prince. It was a flu. He's not very old. How sad. I hope he didn't refuse general treatment like Jim Henson

PD: The Argentinian archive uploaded the full concert of Prince in Rock In Rio 1991. Check if it's in better quality than other sources.

It was his Super Bowl performance which made me aware of the Super Bowl itself.

it wasn't 'flu. it appears he had the same "prescription painkiller addictions" that many film/rock stars suffer.
as for the list, I'd ty and be philosophical about it - if i can..
many of those i idolised or grew up watching/listening to (were 10-15 years older than myself) - they're now much older and it's generally accepted that those from the previous generation should "go first"
to coin a phrase - only two things in life are certain; death and taxes.
it'd be stupid to say that anyone under the age of 80 dies of "natural causes"
lifestyles and disease are the contributors to these "untimely" demises.
all that aside, it's quite a hurtful list, it scrapes away, trying to erase parts of our childhood, thank heavens for a reliable memory eh?
just look at the list (below) - apparently - "82 stars in four months (from christmas to date):

I am beside myself .... And I'm so relived to be among those who " get it "
I just left a forum with a bunch of butt hurt Eagles fans whining over Glenn Frey's death not getting the Sam amount of coverage as Prince....
RIP Prince Roger Nelson
"Dearly beloved , we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life "

A few weeks ago I thought "how good it is that Prince is still alive, at least we still have some legends who are still here". Fuck.
The results of yesterday's (Friday) autopsy are still not complete, so we don't yet know what killed him, but I think it might have been something which could have been prevented. And that makes it even more of a tragedy. Especially since, as far as we knew, the man lived a relatively healthy and safe lifestyle.
Just 57. He still had music in him.
Pretty soon we'll be making lists of legends who are still alive instead of those who have died.

It cannot be emphasised enough how forward-thinking his music was, and what a talented musician he was. He was also a very good songwriter, for his songs and for others too. Some people still don't know that 'Manic Monday' was penned by him.
