Not at all. Bowie went to visit them whilst they were recording. There's nothing to suggest he went to visit them *on the first day* of their recording sessions. In fact, by the time he went there they'd already done some tracking in Munich and then moved to Montreux, which means that whatever they did in those days (including the backing track of 'Cool Cat') preceded UP.
