That's a real crime perfectionists such as Queen would not record their shows at soundboard.
Back then no band recorded every show with a mobile recording rig - it was very expensive ! It was a lot of work to get a proper recording of a show before the digital age.
It's easy to get a mono or stereo mixdown, which they did every night, but a full 24-track is a whole other story.

Japan 85
Mannheim 86?
Newcastle 86
Manchester 86 - some overdubs (Wembley 2nd night) come from this show (for example 2nd verse We Are The Champions ''And I ain't gonna lose'')

Nope, never. The rest of the thread definitely will NOT be clogged up by complete and utter speculation.

yes. he did. but let's be realistic for a moment here. If "the Librarian" said the sky was blue and the grass was green, then any intelligent person would look outside to be sure - rather than take HIS word for it.

If we refer to "Real Magic" docu shown before Hungarian Rhapsody in cinemas, then we've heard how superior and professionally sounding is the sound of these bits as compared to bootlegs (for example Mannheim).

That overdub isn't from Manchester. In the Manchester version he doesn't sustain the Bb4 ("lose") which he does in the 2nd night Wembley version. My guess is that it's a studio overdub.

VENUE: QUEEN FAN CLUB CONVENTION 2016
Q&A SESSION - GUEST SPEAKER: G BROOKS (QUEEN ARCHIVIST)
SUBJECT: QUEEN LIVE - THE ARCHIVES
Fan A: So, as Archivist, would you be able to confirm the total number of Queen concerts that were professionally recorded.
G Brooks: Yes. FOUR gigs only. Golders Green, Rainbow, Hammersmith 75,Budapest
Fan A: But what about Montreal, Milton Keynes and Wembley? didn't Queen release those as official live recordings?
G Brooks: and?
Fan A: well that makes (at least) SEVEN gigs professionally recorded
G Brooks: what's you point, twat?
Fan B: But weren't other live shows also professionally recorded?
G Brooks: like which, smart bollocks?
Fan B: Knebworth (it was included in live Magic), Most of the Magic Tour, Hammersmith 79, several Japanese gigs, South America, hyde Park, Earls court and the second Rainbow 74 gig.
G Brooks: I don't know where you get your rubbish information from. I said four, and i meant FOUR. I am the archivist, i know everything and you fans know nothing.
Fan A: and most of the Live Killers tour was professionally recorded too
G Brooks: where do you get such twathead information?
Fan A: website BrianMay.com states: "comprises tracks selected from over 50 recorded shows in the UK Europe, Japan and America "
G Brooks: I said FOUR gigs, ok. interview's over, you ungrateful twats.

Why do you list Richfield 1977?
The Real Wizard · Member since
Yeah, that's a stereo soundboard, not necessarily a mixdown of a 24-track.
Same goes for most of those later 79 shows, presumably.
on my way up · Member since
I've made a list of all pro audio, not just from multi track, hence why Richfield is listed.
There are probably many more such recordings but for now we can't be sure since there's no (official) confirmation.
Nitroboy · Member since
Well then how come you didn't list Sun City for example?

That's right. It's not Manchester. I'm sorry. I compared these shows too quickly.
How they did it? It's definitly not studio version of We Are The Champions. Freddie's voice sounds too heavy. It sounds like cut from another show but edited. ''Human Race'' also sounds uniquely.

Key words here.
That's the real question, How many shows were multitracked? As these are the only ones to be released. Is an excellent question to ask to the heads of Queen Productions.
