[to the QOL community, let me first appologize for a recent display of stupid texting... but please read on]
Dears Dr. May and Mr. Taylor,
Just recently (about 30 minutes ago), Donald Trump was welcomed to the stage of the Republican National Convention over "We Are The Champions", to introduce his wife, the keynote speaker of the night.
I don't want any more "we'll look into that"'s or "we don't get into politics"'s sort of answer.
As a Queen fan for over 30 years, I know Queen could never stand for Trump - moreover, I am certain Freddie would never stand for such a homofobe, mysoginist, and hater in general.
All I ask is that you deny any connection with his campaingn and demand royalties for the use of the song - and, hopefully, find a way to stop him from ever using any of your material again. It is just plain offensive that a man such as him should ever be linked to the most wonderful music ever made.

The choice between Trump and Clinton is dire. They both have a hume amount of bad points, and are possibly the worst contenders in US history. I wouldn't want Trump to use Queen's music any more than I'd want Clinton.

As a Queen fan of 30 years, I am fine with Trump marching to Queen's beat.
Whether a person is your candidate or not, he did not seek permission. After being told not to, he did so again anyway.
Mike Huckawantabee ended up paying Survivor around 25K due to playing 'Eye of the Tiger' without their permission, and doing so after being told 'no'.

Payable directly to the guitarist, which means they own their own publishing.
Looking at the credits, it's Holy Moley Music - their own company. Very smart. They see every dime of Eye Of The Tiger. That song is clearly paying their pension.

Ithis thread clearly points out his mind set, in using a song which he doesn't have the writers, publishers or performers permission to use but he does so anyway. . . Take that attitude and apply it to running a country, take that attitude and apply it to interaction on a political stage with other countries. . Trump's not an idiot (sadly) - he's a fucking asshole.
He knew he didn't have permission to use the song, so he went right ahead and used it anyway.
All it will lead to is more publicity for the douche bag, which is exactly what he wants.
He could care less about having to give up money after the fact. That said I'm of course hoping he has to, if only to see more money headed Brian and Roger's way.
