I've been looking at this.

Where it says "Total available certified units" on each artist, I opened them up at look at the sales for the UK.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_music_artists

Queen have the highest number, with Madonna coming a very close second. Then, Micheal Jackson. The Beatles and Elvis are quite a way down from those, and The Rolling Stones compared to Queen has a huge difference. The Rolling Stones overall sales in the UK are 7.500 million. Queen's overall album sales in the UK are 28.405 million.

It's fascinating. But surely Queen can't be the biggest UK sellers. Going by those numbers, The Beatles must have sold more in the UK. I know Queen are big here, but that can't be right.

They're certified numbers. Queen IS the #1 band in the UK in terms of album sales.

That's one quote from him (notably possibly said in jest - always look for non-verbal communication underneath the words), up against thousands of displays of humility and testimonials from his peers saying the same.

Two actually and, again, you could have a billion peers saying otherwise, he still knows himself better and has worked with himself longer.

Moreover, it's not a B&W situation: a person can be pigheaded for some things and humble for others; moreover, being pigheaded does not mean you're
an arsehole; you can be (understandably) proud of what you've done and what you're capable of, and still be a nice person, which he almost definitely is.[/QUOTE]

BM is very approachable and easy to talk to and get along with.

However within Queen there were four extremely hard nosed characters, even the shy and retiring Deaky could stamp his feet and make life difficult.

So no one gave an inch if they could help it, and i think anyone in the business has to have an edge to them and be able to stand their ground otherwise the world would swallow them up. But away from the recording studio, or rehersal, or business meeting BM, like Bod says is incredibly humble, kind and thoughtful.
