If I were to get his autograph I'd be sure it was personalized so there'd BE NO CHANCE OF SELLING it :)

It's an assumption that this is outside JD's house, on his door step.
What it does seem to show is that he appears to be quite approachable and willing to sign autographs which maybe at odds with the common held belief (by some) that he has turned into some kind of raving nutter locked behind his door afraid to come face to face with anyone in the outside world.

Yeah. My impression is that he withdrew from the MUSIC world/scene. Not society altogether, as some people make it out to be.
I'm sure he knows that fans still hold him in high esteem, and as such he's still willing to sign stuff and greet people if they recognise him. But other than this he's most likely just living a normal laid-back life :)

John will all ways have time for his fans,Queen have done forever.He just wants to live an ordinary life,as he NEVER got over the death of Freddie,neither did most of us 'oldies' on here.Great to see that he is still alive,I am sure his family keep him busy! xx

So it's simply a matter of personal choice. Some people (like Brian and Roger) are delighted at the thought of being rock stars in their sixties. John clearly wasn't. That's all. No extended psychological analysis necessary, nothing to do with still mourning someone who died nearly a quarter of a century ago, nothing to do with allegedly being a sociopath or a recluse hermit with severe Hikikomori syndrome, just someone who chose to gradually withdraw from the public eye.
