No one knows.
It's called "The Gold Mix" and appeared a few months ago.
I prefer it to the dreadful mix on "QF". Maybe this is the "true" Queen version that Jacko's leeches wouldn't allow QPL to put out?

Whoever made it must be an MJ fan rather than a BJ... err, Freddie, fan.

the voice of Freddie is crisp....
and i love the brian solo...

Wasn't the story that somebody found it on a USB stick on the street somewhere in London?
A fishy story, but whatever this version's provenance, it must be a least semi-official, as it uses unreleased vocal takes.

I enjoy the mix, the vocals are very clean. The music to me seems very suspect though. Cut and pasted together, the solo doesn't flow. I'm going to guess this is a very good fan mix. Something just isn't right...

Possibly unfinished Queen mix that was rejected

I quite like it. It sounds like a proper duet. This version should have been released over the dreadful version that was. I would love to know where this came from

I think this is a fan mix. Nice to hear new Vocals

"Queen" should never have agreed to release the mess of a mix that came out. Blame the MJ people all you like, it doesn't change the fact that Queen productions released something they weren't happy with.
It's not hard to say "No".
It does sound like a fan mix, with cut and pasted bits and pieces but whoever mixed it does seem to have piano free vocals.

they're "piano free" because they're entirely different takes. The ones previously circulating were supposedly from ppl in Freddie's camp and they were quick attempts done live possibly for reference.
The "Gold" mix has totally different line takes. Notably missing is Michael's cest la "Veev"
and new to this mix was a Freddie line featuring the word "joy" that was absent on the demo takes.
this was professionally done and these are new studio takes that hadn't been heard before.
it was discussed the weak of the "leak" almost EXACTLY ayear ago. I remember it because I was starting a new job. :)

I must have missed this discussion a year ago. I think this version is wonderful. Mostly it is the quality of the vocals that gets me. It is such a travesty that the Orbit version is seen as the definitive.
I am guessing that Brian felt that they had to deliver the promised MJ+FM track and therefore agreed to the Orbit mix.
Given the quality of these vocals I find myself wondering if there are more vocals from the other MJ+FM tracks. Likely just be wishful thinking.
