Interesting mix in major key - "The Show Must Go On"

I think this is the most interesting Queen-thing I've heard in a while, "The Show Must Go On" in major key:

No, he didn't - people do love to sensationalise, don't they? Fred could've sung it at any point in 1990, so he still had 12 to 22-ish months to live ... magnificent vocal performance and all, but why the need/desire to exaggerate like that?
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

People are just igonrant. They keep saying he also recorded Mother Love one month before he died. They also say he recorded The show must go on in one take, which I don't believe for a second. Haven't seen the smoking gun on this one, yet people keep saying Brian said he recorded it in one take.

I've only heard the one take story with respect to In My Defence: "Freddie's beautiful lead-vocals (recorded at Abbey Road Studios) were - believe it or not - a first take."

I think the isolated vocal stem makes it clear it's a comp. Not that it takes away from what a marvellous vocal it is... but somehow some people seem to think they can make it even greater by claiming he was nearly dead or that it was a first take, etc.

I'll admit I was fooled by the one-take deal on TSMGO (I've heard that story going back for years - so it was set in my memory). Wasn't it that certain parts were one-take - and it got misquoted or something?

Absolutely - you can hear many punch ins.

And there's nothing wrong with that - many of the greatest vocals of all time were assembled from various takes.

Yup, TSMGO is definitely one of his best vocal performances. I think Brian said something like "he took couple of vodkas and then completely lacerated that vocal." Obviously that doesn't mean it was a one take. I also remember Brian talking about the vocal recording in the bonus material of DOOL-documentary. He said that Freddie complained about having to sing the high D "on with the show"-line and Brian again said he did a vodka and went to deliver the line. Obviously if Freddie did that line separately then the song wasn't done in one take.

the one take is attributed to Brian. champions of the world "doc" probably.

as for the major minor switches. this reminds me of the crying/moaning scene in purple rain.

there's a HUGE psychological element to chords, modulation and keys. *(duh it's music it makes us feel a certain way)

this TSMGO sounds eerily optimistic. I really enjoyed the mind f***

best of the few I've listened to on that guys channel were

THE POLICE - EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE (sounds truly evil)

and BOBBY MCFERRIN - BE WORRY, DON'T HAPPY

I couldn't stop laughing at that one. Excellent share THANK YOU. I'm gonna savor these musical nuggets. any word on the DSMN minor flip?

Is it me or did the 1st four chords remind me of Faithfully by Journey. This minor to major mix is alright albeit a bit disorienting, but the sound felt off in spots. I can hear a slight flanging.

The best major/minor switched song I could recommend is What A Wonderful World. The song felt dark, depressing to the point of suicide. Someone described it as the soundtrack of 2016:

that's pretty cool! and probably more like what the riff originally sounded like. Supposedly Slash used to play it as a joke. .. something along the lines of it being a "carnival song/melody" ... merry go round/Ice cream truck.... stuff like that.
