And that's the problem with Queen fans. You don't have to like Adam Lambert as a singer but he's nowhere near as hefty as he used to be.

Watched it again "on CBS on demand" and fortunately it was the first comedy bit of the night so I didn't have to watch much of the actual show. (*aside from "QUEEN" the guests sucked).

surprised it wasn't omitted for demand.


1) I was wrong, Corden's timbre does sound heftier; BUT he still gets pitchy and then very ordinary.

2) There IS a bad chorusing/phaser effect on BOTH vocals for the final song. it's really horribly distracting.

The bassist for James' house band (who's really cute btw) got to play bass for Queen. That's fun.

Pretty sure the chipmunk effect on the Hammersmith version of Save Me is in fact the octaver that Freddie was using in the middle section of '39 by that stage (Roger was no longer attempting to sing the high part there). Sounds as if someone accidentally switched it on in Save Me. It's a shame, it slightly taints an otherwise glorious performance.

But weird that it's on the video because it's not heard on the audience tape - it's good enough quality that it should be heard if it was in the mains that night.
