I am sure the vast majority on here never met Freddie, well I did as a 'winner' for a fan club competition in 1988 to meet the band.I and a few club members met them in mid 1988 after a fan club competition organised by Jacky Smith.I thought that we might get a few minutes with them but I was wrong! We met at Olympic studios in Barnes while recording the Miracle album.I was expecting to see maybe one member of the band (Queen were the biggest band in Britain at the time,I would say),but the first member to appear was Freddie, superbly dressed in all white who chatted to us (he smiled as I suggested a Night at the Opera as my favorite album),I remember him as being so smart.so kind and could not believe that this was the same guy who performed on stage,The other thing that struck me was how close he and John seemed to be,my friend went off to talk to Brian about Ac30's and his set up while I chatted to Fred and John.I didn't get to meet Roger as he wasn't there (off sick !).I met Brian a year later in Mcdonalds in Camberley (!) with his son Jimmy and amazingly he recognized me and said hello. This is how they treated their fans,,30 years later NOBODY has come close. RIP that polite, smart, top guy Freddie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A very nice and special story, thanks for sharing it.
Here's one of the published photos from the day http://s17.postimg.org/wdws06vf3/Image4.jpg
The closest I got to speaking to Freddie was when he had a break during the filming of the Break Free video shoot and he came and stood next to me!
Unfortunately I lost the power of speech (and movement) which may have been just as well.
My girlfriend (now wife) spoke to him though, and got autographs from all of the band.
I did manage to speak to John outside the venue (we had got there late and the doors were locked).
He had come out looking for a cigarette and after a little chat escorted us in to watch the filming, nice chap.

(I stand corrected)
Nice story. Was never fortunate enough to meet Freddie, just Brian. Very significant considering the amped up privacy

That's awesome! Wish I was born before 1995 to meet Fred! Closes I ever felt being next to him was standing next his black and white jumpsuit at Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando
