A bit late to the party but only just listened to it.

Standout tracks IMO are:
Love In A Rainbow
Its Going To Be Alright (The Panic Attack Song)
I Who Have Nothing
Story Of A Heart
Cant Help Falling In Love

Amazing Grace starts well then Kerry starts singing. it would have been better as an acoustic showcase for Brian.
all your love tonight.......

Yep, agreed. With countless renditions of this piece (including Aretha Franklin and Nana Mouskouri), seriously, what's the point?

And I agree with your list of the strongest tunes - Love In A Rainbow is especially good.

Bang on the money. Queen were always anything but 'comfortable' or 'predictable'....despite his protestations to the contrary and that he often trots out the 'live and dangerous' tagline, Brian has sadly slipped into both of these traits like an old pair of slippers.

Agree with all of the above.

On the subject of Love In A Rainbow, it's the song that stood out most, for me, on first listen and I think is easily the best of the original songs on the album. There is something about it that reminds me of Dog And Butterfly by Heart, not the melody but Brian's acoustic playing.

Actually I dislike "Love In A Rainbow"...
My favourite is "Story Of A Heart". Great arranjment!
"It's Gonna Be Alright" is the best of the original songs, in my opinion.

Whatever the quality of the songs, staying home and staring at the walls instead of recording and touring is not an alternative for any artist.
Especially for one trying hard to prove that his old band, although the greatest rock band ever, was merely a phase of his complex renaissance personality.
I like the involuntary irony in the album title, though I would like more to see him understand what really were the "Golden Days".

What puts you in the position to understand what Brisn May may think, believe or understand.

On the same subject isn't it narrowing the options to view an album title so literally?

"Born Free (album version" is slightly different from the single version. There are some violins at 2.03 on the album version.
