its curious that the guys have chosen to do a USA and a UK /European tour in the same year!
to best of my knowledge its never been done by them
I have a feeling this may be the last hurrah...I hope its not!

Bought 4 tickets for Dublin today at €101 each. Looked on Seat Wave straight after and depending on the section, tickets were selling for between €350 and €699 each. This is daylight robbery. Ticketmaster are constantly going on about touts and yet they facilitate this on their website. As someone has already said in this discussion....they should be wearing masks.

We're planning on doing stuff we either haven't done before or haven't done for a long time. We started as an albums band, that's what we were. The fact that we had hits was just a byproduct.”
Guitarist Brian May confirms Queen’s 2017 shows will have a more ambitious musical agenda. “The general public knows the hits, so you've got to cater for that,” he says, “but we can chuck in a few things that people really don't expect. We’ll do quite a bit more of that this time around.
Very encouraging that this is in the official press release.

Haven't they said this before every tour??
It'll be live and dangerous!
^Exactly my thoughts. It sounds like Brian is repeating what has been said before. We'll see how it turns out though.
=======================================
A little bit of concern here. If Brian Says: We can chuck in a few things. Don't expect too much folks.... maybe two a song or two I think. The rest is Greatest Hits playing I'm affraid.
As Brian also stated in his Guitarist interview that he did with that guy Jamie. Quote: "I don't play the things that are hard and Not comfortable with these days anymore. I used to practise a lot before, but now I only really play what I feel....."

I am intrigued by the explicit reference to the 40th Anniversary of NOTW:
"....The choice of performance material will no doubt acknowledge this year’s 40th anniversary of Queen’s biggest-selling studio album to date..."
So maybe It's Late, My Melancholy Blues, Sheer Heart Attack??? Or maybe not! We will have to wait and see.
My guess would be 'Spread Your Wings' and possibly 'It's Late'....(WWRY and WATC are 'a given').
If they wanted to heavily feature the album then I could see 'My Melancholy Blues', possibly Brian doing 'All Dead, All Dead' as part of his acoustic slot, and maybe Roger singing 'Fight From the Inside' with Tyler drumming on it.
There's going to be a 70's 'style' lighting rig, and some NOTW tracks which I'm sure will include Spread your wings, I really really hope Roger has a big kit back again, but somehow I suspect he will be with his crappy DW kit. Going to Wembley and O2.....

I'd love to see him revert back to the deep toms again - I just don't like the sound of those shallow things...just a 'trend' thing sadly. Odd that he decides SO late on in his touring life to change away from one of the things that gives him his signature look and sound.
I'm taking the wife and my two young (15 and 12) daughters to the 02 so will be seated there......but also will be standing at Wembley with a mate!

Pingfah, re:
>>Ach. Such a large tour, but yet they still won't come even slightly close to the Westcountry, considering Roger's roots here, you'd think they'd at least get as close to Cornwall as Plymouth or Bristol. Birmingham is as close as they get, that's just ridiculous, they are ignoring a huge part of the country, just as they did last time.
The good people of the Westcountry have far better things to do and spend their hard-earned on than a glorified tribute act. Ashton Gate would have been a good shout but I guess Beechy Boy doesn't want the threat of a half-empty stadium in the pissing rain....

Any chance for pre-sale link for Dublin? I'd really like to use the opportunity to visit Ireland again.

Thank you so much. Now to plan the trip so I can also get down to Cork for a day or two (ten years since I was at UCC).

I'm doing the opposite, standing at the O2 and seated with the family at Wembley, He used to say he wished he had smaller toms like Stewart Copeland, (at the time of the Police) as they were easier to mic... but it took 30 years later before he went down that road, I hate them, both the look and the sound I'd never buy them, but I love the big DW kits, I'd love to see him back at Ludwig, but it wont happen, best we can hope for is a bigger DW kit, but I doubt that to be honest
