That rag of a newspaper has printed lies and hateful falsehoods about pretty much everyone from Elvis Presley to Elton John. In fact, Elton successfully sued them for the outrageous lies they printed about him. Not to mention thier shameful "reporting" of the Hillsborough disaster in 1989.
When Frank Bruno, one time boxer and, later, TV personality was sectioned due to ongoing mental health problems , the paper used the headline "Bonkers Bruno". Naturally, there was a public outcry.
The fact that they ducked and dived to stalk and harass a frail Freddie is sickening. I wouldn't even wipe my backside with that rotten paper.

It's to Freddie's credit that he managed to remain upbeat with all the crap he had to deal with, especially from the British gutter press.

Anyway, on a much lighter note. Peter Freestone says that you all watched the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana with Freddie was in New York and had a hilarious time toasting them and commenting on the outfits etc. Do you remember this?

Wasn't the Paul Prenter The Sun story in 1986, when Freddie returned from Japan, in September I think? Not May 1987.

You're thinking of a different article Costa. Prenter's betrayal was published in May 1987. The 1986 article was after Freddie had returned from Japan. A journalist was waiting at the airport for him and asked about him having an hiv test done. The headline is Freddie's response. As I said, gutter press.

I hate those damn articles; the writers never do their research. Mary didn't live in the house; she lived ten minutes away lol

Oops Sponge Caves,
I also mistakenly thought Mary lived in the house. She always emerged from the upstairs. I thought her "office" for Queen business was there too.
See, I keep learning from this thread. Thank you all.

Beemack74...thanks for your help berating your Sun of a bitch rag. Doesn't dear Rupert Murdoch own that piece of sewage?

There...double doo doo LOL

Yes Thor, that p.o.s Murdoch owns it. Easily one of the biggest hate mongers of recent times. An absolute hateful individual.

She did have the office there you're right (I think this was in Jim's book but I can't remember) but her address was Phillimore Gardens near where he used to have the flat at Stafford Terrace (lol I sound like such a stalker for knowing this but it's all in the books I've read, I'm not a creeper, honest). Freddie bought her the flat when they split up in the 70s.

Yes and I think he is a friend of our very own bad seed, child-President.

I also read that Roger Taylor refuses to do any interviews with Murdoch associated press, because of their treatment of Freddie. (And has a song slagging Murdoch off!) Good for him!

Yeah the Phillimore Gardens flat that Mary moaned was 'very small' and said' "Oh, I'm never going to get away!" when she found out she could see his property from her bathroom window...come on woman, you got a £30,000 flat in the richest borough in the country, that would cost over a million in today's money, stahp your moaning!

ohhh...I made another Mary snipe.
T
Aye Aye Captain, better YOU than ME because the "jory" is still out on this one...LOL

If you'd said all that, I dread to think of the nasty comments about Freddie's 'evil lying friends' lol. But I've got nowt to lose!
