Donnie Darko had one of the best soundtracks out there. You've got good taste!

It was interesting to find out that Freddie never had his London friends fly over to visit him, but then Freddie seemed to have all the friendship and support he needed right in NYC!
Speaking of friends...Sometimes we meet people and immediately have a sense that we could become really good friends with them and other times great friendships develop over a longer period of time. Did you immediately have that feeling that you and Freddie would become such great friends? I believe you mentioned that he invited you to one of his shows fairly soon after meeting him. What did you make of such a generous offering so soon?

I have to agree with you. Thanks for the message. Because the movie was criticized for being incomprehensible, they later came out with an explanation of what the movie was really about. That makes for good reading too.

As a matter of fact, when Freddie invited me to my first ever Queen concert in Philadelphia, and allowed me to go back stage,
and then escorted me out to a popular club that night, I realized what a totally kind person he was. I DID have the feeling
that we could become good friends. He seemed to be the type of person that I would seek out as a friend. Thanks to Peter Freestone,
in a thank you card I wrote him, noticing his heartfelt care of Freddie's every need, I got an answer back and this led to my second
meeting with Freddie and Peter. I asked if I could bring my friends along and he said ok. That is what started our friendship.

I know the upcoming Bohemian Rhapsody movie is about Queen and not just a Freddie biography, and it needs to cover so much material, but I really hope that aspect of Freddie somehow makes its way into the film. His amazing voice was a natural gift, but his generosity was a choice.

I just listened to one of Freddie's interviews with David Wigg, David suggests to him that he doesn't make it easy for people to 'get in' and be friends and Freddie curls his face up and says something like 'I don't want every Tom, Dick or Harry..' LOL!!! I just love it. I think many of us love him for his honesty as well as his generosity and kindness. And his humour!

Hey Thor I remember reading on Peters blog about how some friends took Freddie to a roller rink and he would put on the skates and just sit and watch his friends out on the rink, and when it was time to leave, he would put his shoes back on and that was it. Lol. Did you ever go to the rink with him? He apparently had no interest in skating but loved to watch his friends have a good time. I figure he was probably trying to avoid falling on his ass (I have MANY times on the rink)!

Could this be a reason why you only had one night of PNP with him? Both of you had the same preference during the early 1980’s. There’s a story of Phoebe mentioning Freddie saying “More Bottom”, when he had wrecked the one he was working on. (2). Were there any straight men who would bottom for Freddie during sessions of PNP?
