The afternoon with Lee was so great. We quickly got into a "Freddie state of mind."
Weird but interesting story: After lunch, we went for a cocktail at a bar named "Hunter's"
Lee started reading the first few pages of the thread and seconds after he read the
words "Bohemian Rhapsody", on one of the three video screens Freddie and Queen
appeared on the screen singing Bohemian Rhapsody. We silently stared at each other
for about a full minute with surprised looks on our faces. We, of course, felt it was a
message from Freddie approving of our reunion which included so many pleasant
thoughts about him. Amazing!

This might sound stupid to some but I don't care...it could be a sign lol
One of my friends is also into Freddie and we had loads of weird coincidences like that happen: speaking about a certain song and it coming on, photos of him appearing in unexpected places etc, and we didn't even know him, we just have a connection to each other through being crazed fans haha

It's not stupid at all. As I have described, each year when my sister and I get together we experience a sign
from our mother. One doesn't even need to be religious to believe in the eternity of the soul and spirit. Perhaps
you and your friend's connection based on Freddie allowed his spirit to show you both some appreciation and
awareness of his gratitude.

I came across this thread a day or two ago, and, while I admit I haven't read every page, I did read the first 40+. Accordingly, I feel compelled to say that I have been very impressed by the integrity and general patience displayed by Thor in his replies. Most posts on here have been fine, though, in case anyone misinterprets my meaning in this instance!
While showbiz gossip, or a given person's orientation, do not interest me, I do admit that a post earlier in this thread 'outed' Dave Clark as far as I was aware, though perhaps I'm just slow on the uptake! It doesn't surprise me really, just I had never known. But he was more of my parents' generation anyway, I only know one song by the Dave Clark 5.
I wish to ask a question, and will apologise now if it has been asked previously. While I never got the impression from various biographies that Freddie had any real interest in sport, with one referring to him cheering on Brazil in some World Cup because he thought the players were particularly handsome (I think...it's been decades since I read that anecdote), I wonder did he, and any of the rest of his group of New York friends, ever attend sporting fixtures in the city? Baseball, American football, basketball, boxing, whatever.

as well as several Top 100 of All Times programs.

know if he followed football in the UK as he never talked about it. He also was excited about the upcoming
Olympics in Barcelona when he wrote what was supposed to be it's theme song and sang it with Montserrat
Caballe. Other than that I do not remember any connection between Freddie and sports.

Being right outside of the old 1964 and 1965 New York World's Fair grounds (a place that always gave me, as I called it,
a special feeling. Now, I was 14 years old when I first became interested in the Mets, and wouldn't you know, that was
the year (1969) that the Mets won their first World Series. It was all so very exciting for me at that time and I stayed a

Yea...I get it.. you had a good time with him during your brakes from work or whenever he was generous enough to take you out and/or around the world, but as far as getting to know him, you either were not interested or he didn’t see you as someone he would feel comfortable sharing his true self with.

I once said that when I reading your answers in the thread and I reading Jim's book I see you both wrote about the same person.

A book would be interesting. You could make a reasonable amount of money from that via Kindle and Createspace the paperback equivalent. I self publish through that so it's worth looking into

girl with cancer who I used to take care of in New York. She was from South Africa and stated that she missed
her little budgies back home. My understanding from Stacey was that budgies were like parakeets in this country.
