Katydid,
Nothing about personal stories and communication with others is forbidden here. We love it.
My memories are expanded when I hear from knowledgeable Freddie/Queen fans.

I will answer all today in reverse order.

HaHa RBoulain,
It was exhilarating to hear that "Barcelona" was still used at the Barcelona Olympic Games. I had no idea, despite watching what I could
on TV. in '82. Thanks to all for the correction on this topic. I know that Freddie would be very proud.

Hey Villiers,
I am flattered by your kind words about my (almost) life-long profession. I did not know there was a character named "Thor" on Nurse Jackie. I had
only seen it a few times. As I was working nights at the time, I slept till 10pm and got to work by 11pm. I had no TIVO or recording device like I have
now. Thanks for the info!

One quote from Freddie Thor, is "I like leather. I rather fancy myself as a black panther."
It was usual the leather in New York gay scene in the 80's?

And, Im from Spain, and yes, Barcelona is very known here. It was an honour the duet for the olympic games, and also the record Freddie did with Mike Moran and Montserrat Caballé.

If you can told me more about Deliah film, I would aprecciate it.

Hey A_Darko,
Yes, leather was and is still is a favorite for some gay men. Unfortunately, the look is kind of relegated to
older men. Young people don't seem to have the same enthusiasm for leather as we did in the '80's and '90's..
Now, it has the stigma of being mostly worn by men who should not be sporting their way too revealing fat bellys
and gray body hair.

I just laughed at that image.

Bring back leather for gays I say!

Hi A_Darko,
All I know is what I have already said about "Delilah" But just like I was surprised by "Barcelona" and the popularity it had and has
may be true of Delilah too. I am waiting to hear from our Freddie experts.

Hi captainjory,
I never liked the leather scene other than a leather vest I used to wear when I had a good body. But, for all those that do...God bless ya.

Bring back leather yes, but please not for overweight, hairy men...LOL

Thanks to all who shared stories about "Barcelona" I didn't realize how popular the song actually was in Spain. I can just imagine how proud and excited Freddie would have been to perform that during the Olympics! Freddie's collaboration with Montserrat seemed so deeply meaningful to him. I was quite touched while watching documentaries to see how much they truly cared for and admired one another. Freddie was just beginning to explore new musical directions and I believe he would have continued to dazzle us!
