Interesting that you say Freddie did not seem much into commercialization. In the beginning they seemed to make music for art's sake and later seemed focussed more on writing hits... did you notice a change with him after the enormously successful "The Game" album and maybe the disappointment with sales of Hot Space and perhaps a desire to write more commercially successful material in The Works?
Also as you have talked about substances...any indication he took any to relieve tension or give him energy during shows? When you see footage he always seems to have such incredible energy even before he hit the stage? Just curious and will understand if you prefer not to answer

just happened. Well, we thought, since this was a TRIBUTE to Freddie,
they would edit that stuff out. We were duped!!

Thor, did you ever see Freddie interact with his cats? I am wondering if he sweet talked them like most people do. Do you have any cat stories? Thanks!

The last time I visited Freddie in June 1991, I arrived at the Garden Lodge
and went immediately to Freddie's bedroom upstairs. There was Freddie with
3 cats in his bed including Delilah. It was apparent that these precious
felines were providing comfort to Freddie in his last 5 months. That scene
was quite sweet and touching. I'll never forget it.

Can't tell you how much I love those stories you share. Listening to those Toto songs in the Towne Car...so much fun to picture Freddie's boyish enthusiasm! And the cats on his bed during your last visit...very moving.

real, not phony with their gold-digging intentions." ... I guess attracting gold-diggers was an occupational hazard of being a world famous rock star. He obviously found some true companions with his NYC friends. In general, would you say that Freddie was a fairly good judge of people? Could he spot a phony easily or were there people he interacted with that you thought were not good for him but he didn't seem to notice? I
have always wondered how those with fame and money know for sure that someone truly likes them apart from their celebrity? Seems like that could potentially create feelings of insecurity or hyper-vigilance.

earlier group of friends, for example Peter Stryker, we did not know what
to make of them. They definitely competed with us for Freddie's attention.
I really don't know enough to make a judgement about their behavior. As
long as they were Freddie's friends we backed off when necessary There
was one guy, whose name I forget, would go on and on about his work
for Yoko Ono. Many of the stories were hilarious and I truly loved them
but he seemed to be most comfortable when he was dominating the
conversation. We got the feeling that we were commoners and he was

I find it funny that you mentioned your interaction with Peter Straker. I noticed in interviews with him that ask about Freddie, he always has to center the conversation around himself or his career, instead of just talking about Freddie. He does seem quite cocky and loves attention, but apparently he and Freddie were quite close.
