Which albums production has dated the best, forgetting song writing/musical styles?
I think Mack's work on the game has stood up well because it's a clean uncluttered sound.
My favourite production is on ADATR and NOTW Queen/Mike Stone.

ADATR is great indeed. NOTW too in places, although it gets muddy in places (SHA for example). The Game is probably the most Hi-Fi of them all, but I'm not sure that's the Queen sound I love most. In general I think Queen's music wasn't as well produced as that of its peers.

That would be A Night At The Opera and A Day at The Races (both with Mike Stone doing the engineering) from the 1970s and The Miracle (David Richards) from the 1980s.
The first ones are really good for their time, when talking about soundscape.
The Miracle however might not have the best song collection but the production qualities are superb. It was still done with the analog tape and David combined the programmed computer world with the live backing tracks amazingly. Also the sound is clear, fat and bright.

I would go with the early stuff: Queen, Queen 2, Sheer Heart Attack and then the Works. I find on vinyl, Sheer Heart Attack and the Works are the best sounding albums.
I find that many of their albums of the 1980s have a very muzzled sound, where the guitar comes through as if it was watered down and sounding from behind the wall.

The drum sound is really weird on The Miracle though. It's like a weird, gated mix between a drum machine and real drums. WIAWI and Khashoggi's Ship are exceptions.

i've always liked News of the World, The Game, Hot Space as well as Made In Heaven for production.
least goes to Jazz and The Works.
ones they should remix would go to Jazz and Innuendo. And as I've said in the past - change the track listing of Jazz, drop Fun It and More Of That Jazz to make a much better album.

Most of their albums could of used better production. I love the first Record, but we could all agree that the production is weak for obvious reasons, as most bands first Records. Queen 2, one of my all time favorites is a bit muddy in places. SHA is much better produced, and they peaked on ANATO and ADATR/NOTW. I think the production is really good on those albums. The Game and MIH were good as well. Innuendo and Jazz were really good Records but the production wasn't the greatest.

Jimmy, I Agree! Drop a few of those songs and change the track listing a bit, and Improve the production and that album could of been one of their best. I still like it, but it had potential to be much better. What happened to Thomas Baker? He did a great Job on Opera, but messed up Jazz so badly.

In my opinion... Mustapha as track 1 side 1 was the worst mistake. It's a great song, but not the one to set the tone for the rest of the album. It's essentially a one-off... which is why it should be left as track 1 side 2. Fun It and More of that Jazz ruined the album. Jealousy is a fantastic B-side... but doesn't work in this album. Could have replaced Who Needs You on NOTW.

Clean, crisp, no sequencers, the drums sound, Brian's in your face guitar and AOBTD should've got the Grammy

You can't drop More Of That Jazz! I'd say the equal to Roger's nostalgic and regretful Drowse (OK, with less of a tune) which I hold very dear.
Jealousy, Fun It and In Only Seven Days can do one.
The rest of Jazz is fantastic IMO - a really strange album, and heavy AF. Maybe I'm on it's side as it's considered a 2nd tier album (maybe their first chronologically)
