It's worth saying that I've never agreed with pretty much all Queen album track orders, so that's academic. Mustapha as the opener is suitably WTF.

I prefer Queen II, ANATO, NOTW , The Game, Innuendo and MIH.

The best of all above in terms of production for me is definitely NOTW.

What do people think about the soundscape feel of NOTW though? I have always though it has a slightly colder feel to it. Not just rawer, but colder and more metallic somehow.

Too bad guys like Trevor Horn and Alan Parsons never produced a Queen record.
John: "It's the one thing I wish I could do - sing."

Oh, imagine what could have been!
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

The Game. No doubt about it.
You can dislike the sound, sure, but production wise it's absolutely top notch.

A Day At The Races and News Of The World are very clever as well.

Queen II. Because when you listen to it you feel that exactly what the band wanted to sound like. You forget there was a 5th person behind the desk. The best producers are the ones you can't hear...

Not sure how I am a dickhead for having my own opinion. Care to explain how? No? Exactly. Nice try though. I stand by my comment. Thanks (for adding nothing to the topic).

That's my least favourite Queen album, by far, but it does sound really well.

I think The Works is ok, up and down album. I do think it's a better album than Hot Space, more ups for me than HS had. Should have taken off Tear It Up and Man On The Prowl and added Love Kills and I Go Crazy. The sound of the album is fine.

I would go with the early stuff: Queen, Queen 2, Sheer Heart Attack and then the Works. I find on vinyl, Sheer Heart Attack and the Works are the best sounding albums.

I find that many of their albums of the 1980s have a very muzzled sound, where the guitar comes through as if it was watered down and sounding from behind the wall. [/QUOTE]

I always found Queen and Queen II too muddy, when compared to other albums from that era. The drums especially.

A Day At The Races would be my favourite.

Surely ANATO and ADATR. They are clear, beautifully produced albums, with very few muddy parts. The drums and bass sound excellent.
Go, Go, Go, little queenie!!

All their albums have a good sound.
I love the most The Miracle and Innuendo so maybe that's why these albums have the best sound to me,I don't know.
