It's good to see QUEEN + AL covering BRIAN MAY with LAST HORIZON

;-)

Terrible. I'm kinda sad that they didn't have the guts to do some deeper NOTW material.

That's pretty shameful. I'm glad i saw them when they DID perform a few.

A Pink cover?

Eh. I wanna know how that'd sound.

Most likely this means a live Collaboration for an awards show.

I always thought Pink could do a great job with some of the Queen material (*notice i said SOME)

anyways. Thanks for the updates. Glad they're safe and still playing away regardless.

If he's taking DANGEROUS it must mean something to do with Roger getting to his drum riserbeing half blind.

Glad I sold my four tickets for Amsterdam about two months ago. How can you expect a great show with only one rehearsal??
You made us laugh, you made us cry, you made us feel like we could fly!

I’d rather they chucked a couple of Cosmos Rocks songs in than have to listen to FBG for the umpteenth time.... Seriously considering selling my Newcastle tickets.
And to think I almost bought the onstage package....suppose if I’d have got close to Brian I could’ve told him how boring and predictable the set list is. Such a shame

Well of course Freddie messed things up. But this is a different ball game. Adam is a singer who has established himself as one of only two frontmen for a Queen collaboration. As such, the standard is set high; he should know the songs inside and out. Certainly the band's most famous song should be no exception. Of course, little time for rehearsals could have contributed to this. However, to legitimize failings so far into his role is preposterous and a waste of your time and mine. The "live and dangerous" aspect Brian prides himself and the group on is commendable, but not when it leads to errors as pitiful as this.

Maybe there was a good reason to give Freddie that second verse all these years.[/QUOTE]

Totally unacceptable fucking up the lyrics, so much for respect.

Freddie was allowed to fuck up, he was the original.

Looks like they didn't even do Rock You fast. A fucking Pink cover with their back catalog. Shoot me now.

I've got tickets for Newcastle and honestly I wouldn't give a shit if they binned Rock You, Champions and Rhapsody as long as they were replaced with strong Queen tracks.

I really like WTBF but that can be canned along with Gaga.

I'd rather hear Headlong, I Can't Live with You, IL, SYW, SASS and Lap of the Gods. Imagine finishing with Gods instead of Champions karaoke. That would be megga.

Maybe Adam could do My Melancholy Blues and Spread Your Wings. Songs are not that difficult i guess. These should have practised the whole album in it's entirity to fully mark the 40th anniversary of this album. I think Frank would have liked that.

I like Adam but I wouldn't want to here his version of MMB, it would sound way too broadway.

I would have been with you 24 hours ago, but considering he can't even get the words right to BR, I don't want him anywhere near any "new" material (for him).

Just rewatched bits of the Queen+Paul Rodgers Super Live In Japan dvd.
They were so much better.

Glad I didn't buy tickets for the Lambert thing.
It's terrible.

No, it isn't terrible. I was in Prague two days ago and I have to say it was in some way the best concert from those four ones I had been in Prague during last 12 years. Plus I can count to this even Brian's concert from 1998. This 2017 gig was the most entertaining from them, I could almost say the most "queenish".
To be precise, I'm long years Queen fan (listen to them for almost 40 years). In no way Freddie could be replaceable. But on the other side, what can the rest of Queen do? John don't want to play further, Brian and Roger do. And they could. They have any rights to do it. It's ok and who wants see it, goes there and otherwise.
To compare Rodgers and Lambert era is tough. With Rodgers it was more bluesy and maybe more straightforward and rockier. But also less theatrical and bombastic Queen fans were accustomed.
With Lambert they are more Queen like. The first concert from 2015 wasn't bad, but I didn't plan to go this year. For whatever reason but mostly for I saw them three times and Freedie couldn't be there anyway, so I didn't expect nothing new. But my children gave me and my wife two tickets (+ son went too) so it was decided for me. And you know - it'd be my very mistake not to be there.
It was evident they playd more gigs together and the whole concert went smoothly. But the visual side of it was overwhelming. I could say it's visually one of the best gigs I ever been on. In one word - fantastic and absolutely entertaining. I could say Freddie would be proud of this. And I have to add - sound was great too.

Well, Lambert is good singer with fantastic voice range. On the other side his voice is rather sharp and harsh. In some aspects he's more Freddie (costumes, flamboyantness...). Maybe sometimes he's over the top with his gay orientation exposure. But ok, it's his way of presentation himself and all in all I could live with it.
Queen boys are older, rather slower, sometimes not so precise they were before, but they are great anyway and it's pleasure to see them.
My wife was after this gig almost speechles. She's not such music fan I am and if she says it was fantastic experience, there must be something in it. :-)

So my biggest complaint is their setlist. This is "News Of The World Tour" - robot Frank is almost always up on the scene. They celebrate 40 years of NOTW (I don't want to comment that very bad 100 pounds worth "box of surprise"). I expected - really wholeheartedly expected - some NOTW songs (not WWRY or WATCH). Brian said somewhere there would be surprising changes in their setlist. And as usual - no surprise again. Yes, they put back in the setlist Get Down Make Love, but that's all. No Spread Your Wings or It's Late, no Melancholy blues, Sheer Heart Attack or - God forgive - All dead All Dead or even Fight From The Inside. Sweet nothing, only standard gratest hits. This is rather shame I should say.
But to end my rants positively - they were great anyway and I'm happy I was part of this show.

Now back to my lurking mode :-)
But now it's time to be gone - forever...
