Posting in the other thread, would anyone with a bit of spare time be able to make me a version of Live Magic.

Basically, retaining all the edits on the cassette / vinyl version, but adding the opera section of BR back in.

The original Japanese CD had the cassette edits (which I like), but obviously omitted the opera bit so that might be a starting point.

I mean, I could probably have a crack at this myself, but you know..

As part of my ongoing exciting life, I have now completed this project on my beloved Live Magic. I didn't realise the Japanese CD also kept the cassette edit of HTF too. So I now have all the original edits in digital, plus the opera section added back in (nearly) seamlessly. That 'bang' on the edit was left in because it's all part of the fun. Anyway. As you were.

Is the Japanese CD a different edit to the UK CD?

I had no idea that there were different versions of the album.

So you're saying a cassette version had the opera section of BoRhap intact?

Are there complete versions of TYMD, Break Free, Ga Ga, WWRY, Friends, or WATC from Knebworth !? Or are certain songs even shorter on the cassette?

I think he refers to the japanese CD being shorter than the UK release, containing the same edits as the vinyl / cassette (A Kind Of Magic, Another One Bites The Dust, Hammer To Fall, etc.)

But that still doesn't answer my question. Which songs are edited differently on which versions?

From what I remember

Japanese CD / cassette / vinyl:
-A Kind of magic (shorter guitar solo)
-Another one bites the dust (shorter vocal improvisation)
-Hammer to fall (2nd verse edited out)

Discogs also mentions a 24 bit remaster CD from Japan released in 2001.

Barry, re:

That's one highly polished and *VERY* shiny turd.......

That might be so, but what are the lengths of each track?

The songs that stand out to me are Boh Rhap and HTF from the Japanese as they look to be at least 1 minute longer than the UK release. :P
