I love the atmosphere on this show. It's a great recording and a fun listen.

There are better shows from later dates on this tour - but this is such a good listen.

Concerning the 1978, did Freddie crack when trying to hit "all my money" on Death on Two Legs ? Was this caused by the nodules ? The performance is tubular!
He just didn't hit the note cleanly, because his voice wasn't in top shape. He fluctuated from night to night on this tour.

He's a bit stronger than the December shows here, but not as good as Landover and NYC, as our pal Gregsynth has already pointed out.

The guy has probably recorded the Queen Providence shows. We already had Providence 74 and 80, here we have Providence 78. He says in the description of Providence 78 that it was his 4th show. Maybe he recorded shows n°2 and 3, considering Providence 74 is the first one. These might be Providence 1977/02/10 and 1977/11/15 listed on queenlive.ca?
His 1980 post isn't from his tapes. He would say so in the description if it was. It's actually the version I posted here on QZ, from ThomasQuinn's excellent tape, but probably the Breakdown bootleg of it (there is a fade in at the beginning, unlike the raw tape - Paul even uses that artwork from that release).

Not sure if he actually taped the 77 shows, or if he just copy/pasted setlists from other shows from that year onto his website. But I'm sure we'll know in due time. He responded to someone saying he may have the February show.

Probably the 3 shows we have now is all he taped.

He definitely didn't tape the 74 and 80 shows.

74 was by Dan Lampinski (same guy as Boston 76, but before he got his good gear), and 80 is from an existing bootleg.

cd1 7:48 "why are you recording this?" someone asks the taper. Being a taper too I hate questions like this. Shut up and don't ruin the tape! ;)
Ha, no kidding !

And then the taper adds "I wanted to film it, too."

But he definitely couldn't have done both, unless he had pals who wanted to help. Or maybe it was just too expensive to buy blank tape and film (and batteries for both) - all of which was ridiculously expensive back then.

...and then this person slags off the album and says that he saw the band when they performed for the ANATO tour. The reception among fans of the band's slightly change in style can be heard here.
Yep. The one guy says "it's a joke." And during Bicycle Race he says "I hate this song."

For sure a lot of fans on this side of the pond jumped ship after Jazz, never mind Hot Space.

But it's interesting to note how it has always been important to rock fans in North America which album a band was touring for.

FRIGGIN" MARCH OF THE BLACK QUEEN !!! https://youtu.be/MWpdSBkXU-w?t=1706

Did they ever play it in full in the early days (yes I know about the "medley" version) ?

In the first part of the show Freddie mentioned this song as someone from the audience requested it. Well, they really cared about their fans back in the day.

THIS IS GOLD!!!
Hot damn ! Now isn't this the find of the decade .. !?

This one needs a speed correction, I'll do it later.
And an EQ job, as it's a bit bottom heavy.

But maybe we should wait it out, as it seems the taper is about to let out the lossless copy.
Yes, when I read that the taper would share it lossless I didn't do any job on those YT vids. We'll wait and see.

Band is strong, Mercury is good overall, and It's Late and Brighton Rock are excellent versions (the delay on the latter is even in stereo on this audience tape).

Spread Your Wings is very loose and playful, and the acoustic set is excellent.

Dare I say this is the definitive US Jazz show, all things considered? Both the quality and performance are top notch.

Either way, this was such an awesome listen. Mercury slays in Keep Yourself Alive, even though they've played it at every gig since 1971. This is not a band phoning it in. They are still hungry and giving their all.

This is sooo cool!

Paul taped all kinds of bands. I'd be so happy if the good folks on dime (from Jems) could help Paul to make his entire collection available through dime, in the best possible quality.

But now, fitst enjoy this jewel!

Man, another new show! When was the last time four shows were unearthed in a single year (Counting Nagoya 1975 as a new show because only 2 songs were available before)?

WOW!!! Unbelievable! Black Queen intro played by the entire band! What else they played that we aren't aware of? Over 50% of concerts are still not available.

Thank you!

And let me quote this (regardring 15th November 1977 show) - "My website says it was recorded so unless I made an copy and paste error then its quite possible its in the archives. Unfortunately the archives are in Rhode Island and I live in San Francisco so its gonna be sometime next year before I get back to see my parents :)?" So it is possible!
